I found the word LOVE marked down at Marshalls. It is all the letters together and it stands up. Any way, cost $3.00. And I am obsessing over altering it. Nothing I try is just right. I have spent so much more time than it is worth!!
I often spend more time than I want/intend to on a project. But in the long run - its worth it to keep going till you get something you like - or dare I make a pun and say love
Sometimes what works best for me - is to go away for a bit - leave it for a few hours or a day or so. Often when I come back I'm able to either see whats bugging me about what I've done or have a totally different approach that makes the project work out.
Me too ... I can get really stubborn over making something work. I do walk away but it will haunt me - I can hear it saying, "nayna na na, you can't do it!". I swear I can hear it...
I'll even sit it on the table when watching TV, hoping that something will inspire me. I have a couple of Iris project cases that are "works in progress" (i.e. can't get it to work). But , when I get inspiration it's wonderfull and it was all worth it.
Does anyone remember the blossom bow last year? Man, I spent probably $30 in ribbon to learn how to do it and then I've never made one since. At what point in time do you call it quits?
I am not going to let this get the best of me! And I refuse to spend any money on it. This is supposed to be a cheap but nice decoration!!
And when I post it, I want lots and lots of comments, okay? LOL!
good luck!!! maybe try flipping through catalogs or magazines for ideas? or if you have a favorite quilt or dish or something around the house, perhaps those colors & patterns will inspire you.
That can be so frustrating! Is it a wood cutout? Here's one I did a couple weeks ago, sometimes all you need is some pretty paper and a couple embellishments
