Just wondering if this is worth the money. I like new techniques, but don't have a ton of time to devote to them. Are the techniques in the newsletter pretty time consuming? Some of them sound complicated, are they? TIA Kendra
I have a subscription to it and I really enjoy it. Some techniques are time consuming but I think for the most part they're not. It's fun to make up pages with these different techniques and put them in a 6x6 scrapbook to take to your workshops (if you're a demo). The customers love looking at them.
TJ newsletter offers something unique in that it is entirely technique oriented and crammed to the hilt with each issue. Samples abound not just in the newsletter, but also in the subscriber's only portion of the TJ site, so that's a cool bonus. Yet another bonus of the site is the subscriber only portion that enables you to see yet more examples and more in-depth instruction of the technique, as well as an online bonus technique not printed in the paper version of the newsletter itself. And, there's a yahoo email group for subscribers and it's a GREAT source for help when things don't go well, or if you're nervous or just need more info before trying something out. I have called upon their help a # of times and ALWAYS, someone comes to my rescue!
In all honesty, I don't try many of the techniques--I'm too lazy and, personally, I've come to realize I'm much more of a project based stamper than a technique based stamper. However, I enjoy having them all in one convenient location, educating myself about what the latest and hot new technique is out in Rubberland, etc. As a demonstrator, I find it an invaluable resource of information. There are no ads whatsoever, and how Pat keeps the price so low for 6 issues really blows my mind . . .
I think, even if you are not as addicted to techniques as Pat is (she's in good company as there are droves of stampers as addicted to them as she is!), I think you will find it valuable information and certainly well-priced. I think of it as a little "technique gold mine" . . .

I do and I love it! I will say that a few of the techniques seem too tricky for me-but there are always a few that I really like. And when I get around to trying some of teh "tricky" ones they aren't too bad at all! The on-line tutorials are excellent and seeing so much artwork as Julie mentioned is a big bonus.
The 2 samples below are techniques from the last (most recent) newsletter.
This is the 1st card I ever posted on SCS (or anywhere on the web!) and one of my favorites. It was my 1st "techniquejunkies" cards too! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

The newsletter is a subscription that sends you at least 6-8 techniques to try for rubber stamping complete with written directions and a password to the on-lin step by step tutorials.
To get it 1st go to www.patastamps.com and then look for the link to the techniquejunkies newsletter. Yo uwill get more information and some samples from the site, easier than just talking about it here. If you are friends with one of the "junkies" please mention their name if you do decide to subscribe.
Enjoy!

Donna, go to www.patstamps.com and you will find the information you are seeking. I just subscribed and received my first issue and I am impressed. There is so much to learn. Check it out, I think you will like what you see.

Pat has just come out with the second edition of her CD ... with all the techniques from the past year's newsletter, plus 10 additional bonus techniques. Check out her website for more information about the CD. I have the first CD and it is awesome!! I have the second CD on order.
I get the newsletter and love it! Pat does such a great job of laying out everything and making the instructions easy to understand. It has been a great investment for me! I have all of the back issues and have paid through next year. I know that I will gain so much between now and then!
Sounds like a great resourse, Is it mostly card Technique's? or a mixture of cards and scrapbooking?
They are offering both cd's, and paper copies from the yr. 10-04, 12-05,
This sounds nice.
So whats the difference between the paper copy's and the cd's?
I for the most part do scrapbooking, I'm trying to decide if I need it or not. I DO need visuals, and step by step instructions, but like I said, I'm mostly scrapbooking.

Thanks for the info....But is it worth paying for back issue's?
or should I just start anew?
It is absolutely worth getting the back issues/CDs. Once you sign up, you'll pretty much become a "Junkie" too, and you'll want to have all of them anyway!
Well I just subscribed to both the Technique Junkie and the Stamping Scrapbookers Newsletters. I'm sure with all the glowing reviews it will be worth the money. Thanks ladies for all the info.
