ScrapFest 2008
Anybody headed to ScrapFest that Archiver's is sponsoring at the Mall of America in the Twin Cities this weekend? I'm going with a friend and we are both taking several classes, several of which deal with acrylic albums. Hope to come home with lots of new ideas? Anyone else going?

hey! I was there! took the Hambly class Saturday at three... which did you take?
Did you get any good ideas for adhesives and clear albums? I'm still kinda fuzzy on that... |
I took that same class at the same time!! As far as adhesive, I think what we used is the best I've found so far for not showing through to the other side. I wonder how well it will hold, though, if the album is handled a lot. I've used the Tombow vellum runner also on a thicker acrylic album and though the instructor bragged about it not showing, I was not 100% pleased with the look. I think the only way to get around it is to plan pages so the adhesive is not exposed at all.

okay... i'm embarrassed! what did we use? that glue dot vellum stuff? or the glue dots? I was kinda on overload by that point (and irritated with myself that I had only brought my good paper snips and was cutting heavy acrylic with them! duh me!)
I thought about emailing them for more detail... I'll post here if I do! |
I emailed Hambly and Allison Kreft Responded to me:
As for adhesives, I actually was just posting about that on the blog 2 days ago (Hambly Screen Prints) I really like the mini glue dots- they work great for the circle overlays too. Even though you see the adhesive a bit, it just a clean circle (so it doesnt look messy) You can also staple through the overlays that what I do if I have 2 very clear pieces and I dont want any adhesive to show. If not I use the UHU glue roller & Therm O Web- Vellum Runner. Its barley noticeable. I hope that helps!! Thanks! |
