Default Need help with Sympathy Sentiments

Hi

I need to make a sympathy. These are always the cards I struggle with the most. I have a basic idea of the colors, layout & images...

But could really use help with the sentiment. It's for a family of a friend from church. She was only 38 and passed quickly and unexpectedly.

What sources do you use for verses or sentiments?

TIA

Here's another one:

You can also go to the gallery and type in "sympathy" to get ideas.
I usually have a few made up ahead of time.....I draw a blank when I HAVE to make one.
Good luck.....

That's where I spent the last 20 minutes or so... Did get some ideas there.

I keep saying I'm going to make some sympathy cards & thank you cards to have on hand but that hasn't happened quite yet...

I think I'm going to use the "Do not stand at my grave and weep" poem, with a brayed sky scene.

Thanks for the sites. I've bookmarked them!

I had a friend's 19 yr old daughter pass last December. I knew them but only met her once so I wanted something sincere but simplistic. This is what I ended up with.

For sympathy cards, I have a nice script stamp that says "With Deepest Sympathy." I usually put that somewhere on the front of the cards.

For the inside, I have 2 verses that I use the most. I print them on my computer on the inside of the card:

1. May you find the courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today.

or

2. Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.

Hope this helps.

I generally don't make sympathy cards, but every once in a while someone will ask me to make a sympathy card so I finally decided I needed to have at least one sympathy sentiment in my collection. After a lot of searching, I picked up this sentiment from Verses Rubber Stamps.

I found sentiments on this website somewhere. It is a file that you can download there are tons of them. I also look at the Current catalog website. There you can find cards and they show the words on the inside that I use frequently.

I just typed sentiments in the search box and a lot of things came up. Someone said you can go on the PaperCrafts magazine website and they have lists. If you need more try a search.

Thank you for so many great sentiments and great links.

I'm off to make the card now.
