Rubber Stamping Fun

Now I know we have had a few threads on this recently, but I was again wondering if any of you had heard anything at all from this company, I emailed a couple days ago, and heard nothing back. What does everybody think, bearing in mind that when we all got the last email we were told that people would be getting a shipping notice that week, I know it was going to be slowly trickled out but surely one of us on SCS would have been one of those first ones to get their shipping notice seeing there are a fair few of us who are on the list?

What are we all thinking about this?

Jeanne S 06-28-2007 04:34 PM

I haven't heard a word. I think they bit off more than they could chew. I don't understand the lack of communication. That bothers me.

prbloom 06-28-2007 05:12 PM

I haven't heard a thing either. I was beginning to wonder what is up.

Sillybird 06-29-2007 12:55 AM

I expect we could be being far too suspicious, but like Jeanne it is a bit bothering that since the last email ages ago nobody has heard a dicky bird since, so was it all just a big marketing strategy on their part, get us to all advertise for them on our blogs and get the talk going on here do you think or was it like Jeanne said again they didn't realise the massive implications of posting so many sets to all over the world?

Whichever, it would be nice for some sort of communication either way really?

I really HOPE it's that they are overwhelmed with the new baby and with this huge undertaking. I really can't believe that it would be a marketing ploy, because you know how bad word of mouth travels much more quickly and with more force than good word of mouth, right?? I just wish that someone would let us know what the heck is going on. I feel stupid having their logo on my blog for so long and hearing nothing from them. Apparently they aren't answering emails and we know they read SCS because I believe they've posted in our RSFun threads before. So why are we being ignored?? It's a bummer, for sure.

Babsnelson 06-29-2007 04:56 AM

I would like to think they bit off more than they could chew. I have noticed that only one of the "preview" sets has arrived on their website, so they may be having problems with manufacturer.

I would think they wouldn't like the amount of negative publicity that this could potentially generate, so I hope it just a matter of time!

StampinGirl 06-29-2007 05:07 AM

Honestly, I have just given up... :(

At this point, I'm not excited about it at all anymore. Sorry. I have a ton of things going on at home and simply don't have the time to *wonder* why or why not as to not receiving any stamps or e-mails. Personally, I don't like the way they handled it from the get go... getting everyone so excited to see that they (we) were picked and then finding out that they picked as many as they did... What's with that? What *new* company can afford to do what they were proposing to do???

As the saying goes, If it sounds to good to be true - then it probably is... :(

I agree, but it would have been nice, and you would think they could put some sort of statement out wouldn't you to some sort of effect.

Colleen Schaan 06-29-2007 09:40 AM

I have had issues with them from the get go. I got the first few emails...congrats...your on the list...and then bam...nothing. I emailed...and again...and again...and nothing back...I had to rely on people here just to see the preview stamps. I would like to be optimistic and say that they just were not prepared for our "SCS" excitement and energy, but who knows. I never did put their logo up or announce it on my blog...I was waiting for some sort of contact back and it never came...so why would I give free advertising to a company I couldn't contact?

I don't think what they are doing was that expensive- they picked what like 30-50 people? If even that many? And are sending a stamp set to each of those people- if they had handled it better- that's NOTHING. It probably cost them more to place the banner ad than it does to give away that rubber.

I think the main problem is people thought they were signing up to be on a design team- which they weren't. We signed up to recieve a free stamp set- use it and give them our impressions back, and share our impression with people who read our blogs. They just wanted feedback.

With the baby on the way, it was poor timing. I hope to get my set, but I've otherwise given up on the idea.

I was never under the impression that it was a design team - just that they were a new company trying to get feedback on their product by *choosing* 145 people to be in the pilot program, as stated in an email from them. That's a lot of $$ in stamps to just give away...

I do agree with a new baby in the mix that definitely made for poor timing... Oh well.

Jeanne S 06-29-2007 11:21 AM

They got their feedback. We looked at the sets and chose which ones we liked. The threads here got their name out.

I don't mean to hickjack but "dicky bird"-LOL! I could "listen" to you talk all day! You are such a cutie!

Back to the RSF thread.

I hate to jump in here with a comment (that I know may earn me some flames)... but how can this be a scam? I've talked to Adam on multiple occasions and know they are still diligently working on this program.

I say - Hang tight... it'll happen.

Just my 2cents...

Thanks,
Lisa

Joan B 07-01-2007 09:14 AM

I don't think it is a scam. Just poor marketing. They got a bunch of folks in a tizzy over a free stamp set. And then nothing. IMHO, you really shouldn't offer something unless you either have it on stock or state that it won't be available for x number of months.

But, really, it isn't a big deal. If it comes, fine. If not, whatever!

Extremely poor marketing mixed with bad timing - they had a baby due at the same time as the ad was running. Maybe they should have waited a few months...

JBgreendawn 07-01-2007 09:27 AM

Well, i don't think it was a scam, but I do think perhaps they should have waited until the stamps had been made and or they had a schedule going on with the new addition to their family.

It would be nice to get another email that says we are red-faced about being so behind or something you know?
I just assumed since i picked a set at the end of the numbers it would ship last and people who picked lower number sets to test drive could have already received theirs...

madebyme 07-01-2007 09:46 AM

I picked set #1 and haven't received it (or any word of receiving it)! Not sure what to think.

nvscrapmom 07-01-2007 09:49 AM

The funny thing is now I don't even remember what set I picked :) I don't think it was a scam at all, just bit offf more than they can chew. I figure it if they show up it will be a good suprise, but I don't expect to see them at all.

Sillybird 07-01-2007 10:42 AM

Lisa, oh I never said it was a scam, just wondered what everybody else was thinking on the subject and if anybody has actually got any of the promised shipping notes. We were just mentioning that not one of us has had any communication from them and I myself have emailed a few days ago, as have a few others, when things like that happen unfortunately suspicions arise when there is a severe lack of communication, that is all.

I totally agree with others, we do not have anything to loose and I do hope it goes ahead because it would give them a lot of good publicity, so as you mentioned we will just have to hang tight.

Hi Alex / Sillybird,

Sorry to give you the impression I was talking about your original post. There are some that quickly commented on the thread that they weren't happy and that this must be a scam or marketing ploy.

I'm just patient enough to wait. I know the program will happen. It's a huge undertaking to run something of this size.

Thanks,
Lisa

I'm with you Lisa!! I too think it is a huge undertaking and maybe their timing wasn't the best with the baby on the way and all but I do think it will happen. And we don't know but there could have been problems with the manufacturer or something to that effect. And please remember these sets are being sent to us FREE - if for some reason we don't get them none of us is out anything. Disappointed - sure - but we haven't lost anything. Let's all try and stay positive for a while longer.

I got a shipping notice a couple of hours ago. Said it was sent USPS and a conf. #. I'm just so unimpressed with this company for leaving us hanging all this time after the constant notices at first. Again, I highly doubt I will be doing any future business with them. I just don't trust that they will be on top of things. The entire marketing thing in my opinion was done in very poor business matter!

Barbra1224 07-04-2007 06:07 AM

Gail.. did you also request stamp set #22?? Just curious.. :)
(I don't follow the news.. how much longer til Bush leaves??)

Skittl1321 07-04-2007 06:32 AM

Got my shipping notice this morning. (Weird- it's a holiday- how did they ship?) I ordered the bar codes.

Gosh Barb it's been so long I can barely remember. Let's see, I think I got the watering can one.

Oh, I forgot the second question. He left sometime yesterday. Too bad I wasn't around to see him off HA! The jets stuck around for a while though. Damn things!

Sorry, that was meant for Barb.

Thanks for sharing! The jagged edges don't look any different than something I'd cut.. hehe.. (actually, I'm pretty picky.. but these can be trimmed). Can't wait to hear how they stamp!!

Stamper Gail 07-08-2007 02:39 AM

Mine arrived today as well. I haven't tried them out as of yet, but they seem to be fine. I thought the packaging was a little odd (a ziplock bag), but the stamps themselves seem very nice. I'll stamp up something and do a review on my blog.

Yeah- the ones I cut have little jags like that too- so no big deal, but I'm reviewing so I thought I'd point it out.I've never bought a mounted stamp that was clearly handcut.

I kind of assumed that was a temporary packaging for the sets. Hmmm... I guess if they mostly sell single stamps it might not be- as they don't do anything for sets?

madebyme 07-08-2007 05:26 AM

Darn, nothing yet for me!

nvscrapmom 07-08-2007 08:10 AM

Hopefully I will get a shipping notice soon. I forgot what set I picked, so that would be a good surprise too. :) Anyone know how I could check which one i picked?
