I currently by SU products from an out of state demo. She's very responsive, but of course I don't get any of the other benefits - parties, etc. So I went to the SU website and looked for reps in my area. I sent an email to the one I guessed was the closest to my house. It's been about 5 days and I haven't heard from her -but it is spring break around here so that might be the reason.
1. Is the list on the SU website up to date?
2. Do reps prefer to be contacted by new customers via web or phone?
3. Are there any guidelines from SU on how long a rep has to respond to leads? I don't want to "jump the gun" and contact another rep too soon.
The SU demo list is updated at least monthly, if not more frequently. I imagine if someone drops being a SU demo, they are probably removed immediately, but I am only guessing, and the dropping process can take awhile, depending on how the demo handles it.
I vote for assuming she's on spring break, or maybe like what just happened to me, her DH crashed her 'puter and was out of the loop for a few days!
But if you haven't heard from her in about a week, I would move on.
That's my opinion, anyone else?
Beth

From what I remember, that listing is updated monthly, based on the amount of sales the demo has, so I'm guessing that if you contacted any person on that listing, she is definitely current.
If you live near Green Bay, WI, I can help you out!
I agree with Spring Break maybe being a factor. If I were you, I would email her one more time, wait one or two days and move on.
This is interesting......2 weeks ago, a customer new to the area emailed ALL the demos listed on the website. I immediately responded, introduced myself, etc. A good friend of mine's (demonstrator but not in my up or downline) email address is right there on the email I received meaning the potential customer emailed her as well. She NEVER received the email! We both have the same internet service, the email is typed in correctly, we have no idea what happened. Weird. Wonder how ofter that may happen?
someone correct me if I am wrong but I think you need to have $500.00 or more in sales to be listed on the SU website. ( which dosent help Hobby demo's like me) but if you feel comfortable letting SCS know where you are I am sure you might just find a Demo here that is in your town or a neighboring one. ( at least if you find one here you know whe is involved in her stamping, how could you not be with the great idea's comming from this web site!)
When I was looking for a demo I emailed all of them that came up in my area. Now I have 4 wonderful new friends and I go to at least 3 different Stamp Camps a month! Contact them all! (they all got back to me within 2 days)

I am a new SU demo and I signed up along with 2 other girls we are all on the demo website, it took a month to get us on there, but there is no minimum sales requirement to be on there.
Yes, there is a minimum... I also think it's $500 in the previous quarter. Not sure when they pull their stats, but I have seen demos go on and then come off of the listing.
Unfortunately, the SU! locator only shows demos who sell minimum $500.00 in the previous quarter. Our requirements to stay active are 300.00.
This is the only gripe I have with SU!...
I don't think this helps new demos, or demos that have to move and lose a lot of there customer base, or people that need more business/struggling demos.
Not only, it doesn't give customers the opportunity to pick and choose a demo they like best.

Not arguing with you but just stating the facts that I have learned from SU!. One of the girls that signed up the same time I did still has a total sales of $0 and she is still on the website the other one has $400 and she is on there. What I have been told by SU! is once your paper work goes through you go on. It is going on 3 1/2 months now since we became demos and are still on.
I have been on there since joining in January!! I have had $500 in sales though in January and just might again in March though. I wonder how long I get to stay on there. You could also maybe email [email protected] and ask if there is one close to you, they MIGHT be able to help you out.
Thanks for the info! I think I'm going to give her a few more days (since it is spring break season). If I haven't heard from her, I'll probably post a request here.
I have been signed up since January and I have been ordering since February and I'm hoping that I will go onto that locator next month since I had $500 in sales this month.
I am also a demo for SU, although I am definately a hobbist. I do a stamp club once a month with a total of 17 ladies, I have sales of 300-500 a month and I am not listed on the site. However, if I remember correctly when I signed up I opted out of being listed. The form asked if I wanted my name and number shared on the website, I declined. I love SU and love doing my little club but am not sure I am confidant enough to go into a strangers home and demo. I also do not recruit at all  so I didn't want someone calling me and then feeling guilty because I dont really want to do parties.
Wow, sorry I got carried away. Could talk stampin' and scrappin' all day
Beth
P.S. I LOVE this site, found out about it at SU convention last summer, if I spent as much time stamping as I do looking I'd have tons of stuff done, oh well I still love it and it's not fattening!
