Enlarge your caddy for new colors?????
As a demo, I am thrilled with the new colors....always keeping us busy and finding ways for us to spend more money!!! My first concern, was the fact that I already have all 48 colors in my spinning caddy. How will I fit another 12 colors...plus 3 or 4 craft pads on this thing?
My question is: Has anyone bought 2 caddys and stacked them....since you put them together layer by layer...couldnt you just stack a few more layers before finishing off with the tray and handle? Has anyone attempted this?

The stamp pad storage can't be stacked, because the middle rod is only so long, and that leaves just enough room for the handle at the top. I sure wish it could be that simple though!!!

They aren't really adding 12 MORE colors, they are replacing 12 colors and moving some to the Neutrals....so there are still 12 colors in each of the 4 families.
Okay, as I read this, I must admit I said out loud...OH, SNAP! :o Not sure what it means my girlfriend always says it when it is like oh man...I hadn't thought of that one.. I just got the caddy a month ago.

There are 12 colors in each of the 4 families, but there are now 6 colors in a 5th family. The question is, what do we do with those 6 colors?

Glad I didn't buy the caddy yet. Hope they come out with a new one since now I have paper that will not fit in my 48 slots. I am going to have to rethink things. Darn! I will just have to go shopping for more stuff for my crop room. What terrible, awful news. I am just heartbroken.

I don't think there will be any EXTRA pads that we don't have now. It said in small print in the demo magazine that not all of the neutrals will be offered in a pad. Vanilla and white have always been separate from the others. Black is also separate now, so that's ONE extra. And I'm doubtful that Sahara Sand will have it's own stamp pad yet. We're not sure on that one yet. But, as it is, basic black is the onlye EXTRA stamp pad.
I hope that makes sense!
However, weve added more colors than we are discontinuing. Weve made room for these new colors by moving Basic Black and Going Gray to our Neutrals line. While the colors in our four color families are available in card stock, ink pad, and marker, the colors in the Neutrals line may or may not be offered in all three product lines. For example, Basic Brown is available only as an ink pad. Very Vanilla is offered in card stock and ink pad.
And it lists Sahara Sand and So Saffron as available as classic pads for pre-order.

You could technically stack the caddy's if you are willing to glue. Since the rod stops at the top of the one, if you just glue more on it and put the handle on top it wouldn't tumble over.
My thoughts were, just buy another caddy! In my case, because I felt that this current caddy wasn't cuttin' it, I just use the boxes they come in and am waiting to see if they may retire the current caddy and bring a new and better one in next year! They never announce what accessories they plan to retire, so you never know until the new catalog comes out.
Boxes work for me! But, yes, I am ready to move on from them if something better comes out... just waiting..waiting... waiting.
Go to Ikea and buy the DVD holders for $4.99 each. They will hold 17 stamp pads each! I saw it posted here before, they only had CD holders at ours last time I checked. I also was holding off on the color caddy It was on my April order - guess not!

I am hoping they will release a TALLER caddy...to accomdate all of these colors (retired ones too). I may just purchase a second one and try and RIG it to be taller. Makes more sense to me to make it taller, instead of having 2 seperate ones on my table....need all the space I can get for STAMPIN FUN!!!

The way I read it, we will have a few extras... Basic Black, Going Gray because the moved to neutrals.. basic brown (which was already an extra) and sahara sand has an ink pad number listed...
As far as vanilla and white, they will probably stay as craft pads only and they were extras already!!
So we will probably have only 3 more extras than we already had!!! I can surely cope with that without buying a new caddy!!! I'm not stressing the caddy anymore after doing the math!!

Hi! I've been stumbling through the new stuff on the site and finally got back to this forum just minutes ago....and came upon this thread about NEW colors!!! I feel like I've been living in a hole and just came out to see if the sun is shining
I get the drift from what's been said on this thread that there is a new category called Neutrals. But there are also new colors - the only new color mentioned here his Sahara Sand, does anyone know the other colors?
Also, there was a comment about discontinued colors - which ones are being cut?
Sorry to be so dense, but not being a demo, just a devoted stamper, I sometimes am out of the loop on the latest that is going on with SU.

Why not email or call DS with a pretty please request for a longer rod and spare trays to add to our previously purchased caddys? Off to do that right now!!!!
One extremely bright person on another demo site (whose name I did not recognize and do not remember) said that this *could* really be quite a simple fix. . . SU could sell a conversion kit that has three more trays and a longer top rod to help those who have already purchased a color caddy.
I really wouldn't stress too much over the details! I'm quite sure that as the bits and pieces of facts come together, we will all see that SU has been thinking this through for quite a while and didn't just yesterday dream up the "Hey, let's change the colors!" idea without considering all of the ramifications. :-D Have faith, stampers!
I worry that stacking two towers or even just adding a couple of more tiers would make the caddy too top heavy for the base and definitely too heavy to move. I'm planning on putting the neutrals in the top with my Versamark pad until I see a better solution.
