Question I am trying to do this project Forums at Splitcoaststampers And she water base reinker and mod podge . But my friend tell me used starlight alcohol reinker. I told don't alcohol reinkers will stick the baby jar. I think it it will run off. Can you ladies tell what bands rekiner to looking for the baby jars? Can you paint on the jars? And get the same look? If so what kind paint? Do I still need mod podge with paint.? I can't seem find the right rekiner either? I have a Michels and Joann And Hobby Lobby. What renkers do I look for or paints? Is dark colors still the best to go with when working paints? And what other things can I substitute for and get the same look? Can you ladies help me? I used alcohol reinkers on my salt shaker pendant in the gallery and the ink does indeed stick to the glass. You can stop the ink from flowing and get some neat effects by using your heat gun. You'll probably need more than 2-3 drops.

My first try was with dye ink and Mod Podge and I have to say it was too humid here and the MP ended up sort of 'melting' on one side and it was starting to dry with big holes, so I had to run water inside to rinse it off and go with Plan B.

You can use paint with Mod Podge but it won't be transparent when it dries. If you have like ColorBurst or Brusho that would be a better option.

I did not use Mod Podge with the alcohol inks. I have a couple of different brands of alcohol inks but I think what I ended up using were Ranger inks.

Would the work the Pearls Kit is thow me off and the pigment. This is confused. Sorry I full questions? But that how we learn right! LOL and your teacher LOL

I think with those you might want the Mod Podge to help them stick...? I haven't used them and I don't have any to experiment with.

Okay another questions......

1. You have water base inks: I think I know what that is? But the different in fallowing listed has one two three and four.

2. Alcohol Inks What the different between the other?

3. Alcohol Pearls Tim Holtz® Alcohol Pearls are permanent, fast drying, pigment and dye inks formulated to create pearlescent colorful effects. Use with Tim Holtz® Alcohol Inks and Alcohol Ink Blending Solution Do I have the Blending Solution to use them? And how can the be pigment and dye inks? I guess I don't understand?

4.Tim Holtz Distress® Oxide® Ink What the different in these? And Can use Mod pogde has a sealer with the inks? Thinks Linda

I don't have them to test, but I found this on Tim's blog:

"This unique formulation of pigment and dye inks create permanent pearlescent colorful effects on non-porous surfaces. Use with alcohol blending solution and alcohol ink colors to achieve even more stunning layers."

So you can use them without the blending solution, or create different layered effects with it.

Not sure what exactly you are asking - the alcohol inks are transparent, and the pearls and mixatives are like a hybrid ink and have some pearl or metal solids in them.

Oxide inks are water based.

I was told not use distress oxside on glass they said stick glass? guessing I am put inker in jar. not on the out side I want to tealight battery one. But some videos I watch decorate the out with stuffed I wanted ribbon flowers and tag maybe around top of jar. But, they used sealer. But what kind sealer? because ranger say this: below the told find sealer that don't have solvents in it. And was try to ask you can I used pearls ink on glass too? And the video said get some UV perfection I don't what type sealer buy? I am doing 20 baby jars 4 0z. 4 or 5 different colors. So the first 4 may red the second 4 maybe green and the next 4 maybe blue. and next 4 maybe purple and last 4 maybe teal. So I not mixing the color together. People will be handles these and their Mother's Day gifts. So I think I should seal them But with what kinds sealer? Because everything I look that a sealer has solvents in it and they said stay Away from that? And do you think I should reinker to the inside and outside? I was just going to put in the jar. Not on the outside. Because the inks are only flammable when wet, they can be safely applied to the inside or outside of glass jars that will be used as votives for candles.
Ranger Multi Medium Gloss can be used as a sealer, but it is water-based and non-permanent (https://rangerink.com/products/range...-4oz-jar-gloss). You may be able to find a permanent sealer, but make sure it does not contain any solvents or it will alter the ink, and test it on a small sample first. Although applications vary and results are not guaranteed, your interest in Ranger and our products is appreciated, and we hope this helps!

If you have Oxide reinkers you could mix that with Mod Podge or a clear poly sealer to apply inside, just like the dye reinkers in the tutorial. It seems like the Pearl ink can be used on glass too, but it will not have the same effect as the alcohol ink because it's more cloudy.

I don't think you need to ink the outside - the inside should be enough. If you have an extra jar you can test your products on the outside.

Was it UV resin that they recommended? That could maybe work but it is a little hard to work with.
