Default Reinkers and Felt Squares

I was looking through an old box of craft stuff and found some felt squares (not the fuzzy ones but pretty stiff) and wondered about making a homemade ink pad. I don't want to waste my reinkers if it is just going to soak through too quickly and want to try something different than the baby wipes.

Has anyone made their own ink pads and if so, what surface did you use.

Thanks for your advice!!

Default did a search...

I just did a search in Stampin 101 for felt stamp pads. There was one thread that mentioned using felt attached to a margarine tub lid and pouring bleach on it to use as a stamp pad. You might want to look there. I haven't ever tried it before, but I would think it would work. HTH.

I am really looking for something that uses reinkers not bleach.

Will try to bump this up again. Thanks!

Use your reinkers and felt to do polished stone. Attach the felt to a small wood block to blot and smoosh the reinkers onto the paper.

Default Felt ink pads

I would think that if you could use the felt with bleach, you could use it with your reinkers.

Do you think you could use acrylic paint on the felt? I don't know if the paint would be too thick to soak into the fabric, but paint is quite cheap. You could try it before trying your reinkers. It might turn out kinda like a craft pad.

Felt makes a great homemade stamp pad. Just make sure to place the felt onto a plastic/glass plate so that nothing will bleed through. I have have instructions in my icing gallery on how to do this with food coloring so you can stamp on icing paper:

I would think you could use an airtight container inplace of a plate. That would help keep it moist for at least another few uses.
