Ok I must be doing something wrong... When I try to heat my candles they just dont come out right... I use wax paper and tissue paper... either i dont eat enough and the tissue paper is still on, or I heat to much and then the candle is bumpy...
:( If anyone can help this candle stampin challenged person I would love ya!

I got my candles from odd job could that be my issue???

are you trying to remove the tissue paper? It's supposed to 'melt' right into the candle. Don't heat too long...only until you see the tissue paper disappear. Also, trim your tissue paper pretty close to the image before you apply it to the candle.

I use really cheap candles and have had no problems.

Okay, I just mastered this last night. I was holding my heat gun too close and trying to melt the wax too fast. By holding the heat gun further away and swooshing it back and forth for a longer period of time, the tissue paper blended into the wax just fine. Try this and see if it helps.

Default Stamped Candles

Hi,

I've been reading about stamping candles and have purchased everything but the wax paper so far. My questions is, can you burn the candle once it has been "stamped"? I want to make some as gifts and want to make sure nobody burns down their home because of me !!!

Thanks,
Myra

I've been told that it's not safe to burn them unless they are the large, multi wick candles. One idea is to let the smaller pillar candles burn down just enough to make room for a tea light, which you can then burn safely.
In the DD gallery, Jan Tink actually stamped a design into a candle that she had melted slightly first. As I remember, she then brushed Pearl Ex over it to highlight the design. It's very pretty, and it can be burned safely.
