Rectangle Coasters
Does anyone have a good source for rectangle heavy weight coasters about 4"x6"? I need about 50 of them.
Thanks,
Beth

I got mine for free at Bubba Gumps! I asked the nice waiter for "10" and he brought me a whole stack of 100!! They are Sam Adams coasters if that helps.

I went to American coaster and requested a custom order quote. Got an email back yesterday. They are only sold in 5000 quantity minimum. Heavy weight is 76.60/1000 ($383.00), and medium weight is 65.90/1000 ($329.50), not including shipping. The lady I spoke with said it takes about 15 days for them to be produced and shipped. HTH

thebota........If you're looking for a coaster in a 4"x6" size, that's a rather large coaster. I would go to your local craft store that does framing or even a framing store and ask if they would cut you mat board to the specific size and quantity you require. I went to my local craft store and they cut them for me for free. I didn't care what color since I was going to cover them anyway. They used what is called the off-cut. It's what's left over after they cut a mat for someone. These are pieces that they can't use for other jobs. It's still large pieces that many crafters can use. I tipped the guy for his kindness. Even if they do charge you a small fee, it shouldn't be much. I figure it's worth a try to ask!

I know, I don't have enough room for my current craft collection, much less room for 5000 coasters. Maybe we should get a group of 5 or 10 together and split it.

bschouest - I think you need more than 5-10 people because at 5 that is still 1000 each. 2 life times worth of coasters???
If you want to start a group share - count me in...

All that scraps have sheets of chipboard that you make your own, much cheaper. And you can make what ever size you want.

You're probably right, but I'm a hoarder. I was thinking more in terms of $ amount, not how many coasters.

I also did a search for blank chipboard coasters and a site called www.ckresale.com popped up, they have .28 weight 4x6 sheets of 100 for $4 and then $4.75 for shipping. I've never ordered anything from them, the price almost seems to good to be true, has anyone ordered anything from them?

Well, if you all want to do a group buy on SCS, count me in for a couple of hundred! (like 300 or so).
Spread the word, they will sell!
