back to school opportunities for us

I was trolling the Walmart clearance section...they are having a lot of back to school sales but also a huge clearance section.


I am seeing a lot of prismacolor pencils for example and some other items that we could use.


Which got me to thinking...this might be a good opportunity for us to have a board and post the "finds" we see.


I'll start:
Several years I saw Sandy Allnock recommend a particular pencil sharpener it has several size options for different size pencils. It was over 30 at the time. Now it is 23 on AZ plus I used points from my bank so I got it for 14. But 23 is still much better. Esp if you get free ship.

Have you guys seen anything good?

What an excellent idea! That was so sweet of you to think about all your crafter friends out there. I would like to encourage Canadian crafters to add to this. Some stores are more universal (WalMart, Amazon) but some are not.

I think this could be ongoing - we all have our favorite places to shop - even on-line, but who can keep track of everything?

Apologies for not having a bargain to add to this. I'm into Month Two of trying to go two months without buying any craft supplies. Please excuse me, gotta go now, I'm getting shaky and sweaty.

Well, it's just that this is that time of year...even though we are all freaking out about how school is going to work (1 million kids in my city!) 

Maybe people like to use spiral notebooks for card ideas, or want to grab some #2 pencils or mechanical pencils....Blick is going nuts with offers. 

Staples and office places may be doing nice sales on sharpies or blic fine markers....

Honestly I still think it is strange to see Prismacolors in non art stores. I am such a dinosaur. LOL 

If people don't know it...Ellen Hutson has a bunch of good quality brushes in her clearance section. And she will stack sometimes so if there is an extra % to be had...
