Re: nutcracker gifts

I have been comissioned to make some holiday gifts to sell at my DD's performance of the Nutcracker in December. I previously sold some of the nugget candy bar purses at the June recital and they were a huge hit. I sold LOTS! The ballet studio asked me to make something small to sell to go along with the theme of Nutcracker. I need some ideas! Thanks for the help--I doubt there is a Nutcracker stamp!?

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=18352028 just did a google search.

Wow-can't believe there is one! Now what to stamp or make?

cullenwr 09-26-2009 10:53 AM

I found this gallery when I searched on SCS for 'nutcracker': http://splitcoaststampers.com/galler...&what=keywords It might give you an idea of what images are available.

There are more than one. SU currently had a nutcracker in a set in the mini- Yuletide Christmas 116855.

And Holly Berry House has a couple outstanding ones, big, too.

And there's always ebay, I find a lot of things there!

Thanks for all of the help-now any suggestions for what to make to sell? I need something small that they can put out on the ticket table to sell. The nugget purses worked great for the June recital-but now I need something else.

You could stamp up altered picture frames, adding the date and place of your production.
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...picture_frame/

Or make small bag-a-lopes to fill with candies.

altered notebooks?

post it pads with cover?

bags of mixed nuts with a topper?

matchboxes filled with nuggets?

altered coaster clipboards with post its?

those little packages of Kleenax, with a cover?

My daughter is in the Nutcracker this year and they are selling these tags that you can put on their flowers with the date so they have a keepsake.

How about an autograph book. Our company also puts on a Sugar Plum tea where the girls receive these, if your company signs autographs after it would work great.

My daughter danced for years in our local Nutcracker show. The kids in the cast gave gifts to each other as well as receiving them from family and friends who attended the show. They always loved any kind of fancy wrapped candy bag and the biggest gift of all was Christmas tree ornaments--I could decorate a small tree with just her Nutcracker ornaments. Those days are over now but we love bringing back the memories when we pull out all those ornaments every Christmas, its especially nice when the ornament is handmade with the year on it.

Currently there are 3 nice nutcracker stamps for sale on eBay. One listing for Art Gone Wild Nutcracker rubber stamp, Nutcracker Stamp-Stamp Francisico and another listed 4 new Christmas rubber santas, nutcrackers(1987 Hero Arts)... Good luck. If you have a chance I would love to see what you did.

craftsrlb 09-27-2009 11:42 AM

nutcracker favor

what about those candy wrappers that look like a popper..kings crown or something like that,,I'm sure some very smart ladies on here will know the name of it, and there are templates on here that you can either enlarge or reduce

Clear Dollar Stamps is coming out with a Nutcracker set that will be available tomorrow. It's fabulous and very reasonably priced! Here's a link to the sneak peek that has the whole reveal of the set. It's toward the bottom of the post...

I was thinking that stamping on a domino and putting the date of the event. This could also be a key chain or a charm.

GIL 09-30-2009 11:58 AM

Thanks so much for all of the terrific ideas!I will post whatever I end up making!

dr.fine 09-30-2009 02:15 PM

How about Nutcracker paper layer pins? A small set of Nutcracker notecards with matching envelopes or a set of Nutcracker magnets might make a simple project.

GIL 09-30-2009 05:53 PM

ok-I found some small little foil wrapped chocolates (about 2 inches) that look like the Nutcracker. I am trying to think of some type of box or cute wrapping to put each one in. Maybe a Xmas stocking? Any pattern you have seen or some cute ideas?

Could you do something like these, but substitute your nutcracker for the front? Make the sleeve and than tape your stamped image on top? The little candy bars are available at Wal-Mart, 6 for $1.00.

HTH!

GIL 10-01-2009 03:19 PM

Yes, that's a great idea too--I think the Nutcracker mini chocolate bars I saw online are only .13/ea. They are pretty tiny though-but I need to keep the cost down as much as possible so that I actually make something! I will check out the candybars you mentioned--oh--and I love your blog!
