Mine SU glossy cardstock is almost allused up and i am having a gathering tonight (not a demojust some friends coming to stamp)

Does anyone know if you can use glossy photo paper instead? Neither of the local stamp stores are open on mondays...Joanns, Michaels & AC Moore do not carry it....

Any HELP!!!! :!: :!:  would be greatly appreciated

It works but not great for embossing so if you are heat embossing I would say no otherwise I use my husband's leftover photo paper all the time (he is a photographer so there are lots of scraps around here)

You cannot use water on the photo paper so if your technique calls for that then no. There is a thread about it a while back>>>

I've been wondering the same this myself. :? The 2 craft stores that are in my area (Michaels and Hobby Lobby) never seem to have any glossy paper in stock.

I just picked up some 4x6 glossy photo paper at the Dollar Tree by me and thought I would give some techniques a try. For a $1 why not?! There were maybe 20/25 sheets in a small blue pkg. I think it'll work just fine for most techniques like resist etc. I would have tried it but I had to actually go to work. GRRR. Cuts in on my stampin so bad!
Hope you find it!

Thanks ladies!!! Tthis is what I want to use it for...I want to try the wax paper resist and the white crayon tonight...so I think I'll swing by my Dollar tree today i knew i could count on the ladies here.

BTW~Thanks for the link for the article. I did a search and it kept giving me any article/thread that had glossy paper in it... I gave up after going through like 4 pages... :( but i knew it had to be on here somewhere ;)

You can also take a piece to your local staples or office max and tell them this is what your looking for. Buying it by the ream is really cheap and they'll find it for you.

Okay... I went to the Dollar tree and picked up some of the cheapo 4x6 glossy photo paper....and THEN i read the thread that is linked above. I'm not too hopeful after reading other peoples results, but heck, it was only $1 and I'm not planning on heat embossing or using water on it..so you never know. I'll post my results later.... My son is going to teach me how to upload in the next few days so maybe I can even post the results  :!:

Well i tried the $1 tree glossy photo paper.....Not good! I tried the wax paper resist-you could see the wax on the gloss but when I went to wipe the excess ink off, it all came off :( Leaving no resist, no ink...nada I was too frustrated to try the white crayon resist....
I guess i will either have to do an "emergency order" with my demo or stop into Staples and see what they have that is similar...thanks for that tip

It works fine for polished stone. That's the only thing I've tried with it.

If you have an XpedX, their Kromecoat paper is awesome. I've used both SU and that for same projects and see no difference, except the SU is a little brighter white.

I still prefer the SU but have bought the other for emergencies.
