I know the old Wolf SU set is pretty rare, although not my style in the least bit.

Also Tall Tales Alpha seems to sell for a lot on the 'bay too.

deb_loves_stamping 07-14-2007 02:56 PM

Cowboy Christmas is rare (and going for lots of cash on ebay).

Karen Stamps! 07-14-2007 03:58 PM

Roosting and Sweet Herbs also seem to be hard to come by. I know because I've been looking unsuccessfully...

Mrs.Mike 07-14-2007 04:04 PM

Wild Wild West is a biggie and that goes for big bucks on the 'bay.

Ciebelle 07-14-2007 04:20 PM

Roosting is on ebay right now for 36 and change

I've been looking for Godspell and Nature Prints ------ can't find either

karla56 07-14-2007 05:26 PM

I think it's interesting how craft and craft items and what people are "collecting" or looking for changes. I used to sell Longaberger baskets and would trade them now for stamps!! When I was a consultant, re-sale on some of my "speciality" basket (Easter, Christmas, etc.) was incredible. Now, some of my stamps sets are worth more!! Same with beanies, hallmark ornaments, etc. I guess it's all in the timing and where bidders are located (close to stores, reps, etc.).

I just saw Changing Seasons go for $132. I think there was a lot of shill bidding going on, though.

Cathy H 07-14-2007 06:23 PM

Um. I guess I'm going to be happy with what I have !!!! Some (most) of those are outrageous ! OK. ALL of them

What does shill bidding mean? Not an ebayer sorry if it is a duh ?.

pam5 07-14-2007 06:32 PM

I am glad to see that I do actually have a couple on that list. Not going to part with any though.

Cynamom 07-14-2007 06:37 PM

I'd add Yeehaw. I have that NUM and just can't bear to cut into it even though I want to use it! :)

Cynamom 07-14-2007 06:38 PM

Oh... and Christmas Cardinal...

Cathy H 07-14-2007 06:44 PM

Shill bidding is when someone who is really NOT a valid bidder puts in a bid just to keep the price up ---- so that the REAL bidders believe that someone else is interested in bidding on the same thing that they are bidding on. (Shills are usually related somehow to the seller)

pixiepinkgirl 07-14-2007 06:46 PM

SU Girl Power and Bow Wow

Girl Power and Bow Wow also always seem to go for $40.00 or more and might be considered "rare".

pam5 07-14-2007 06:47 PM

Oh ok, just like at a live auction the auctioneer or owner having someone just bidding to run the price up just to make more $$. Thanks.

what are you saving it for-cut it and enjoy it !

Judyw 07-14-2007 08:37 PM

Penguin Paradise is going for a lot now too. I saw it recently for $49.00 and bidding wasn't over.

Ciebelle 07-14-2007 11:00 PM

Hi,
I just wanted to clarify..because I have been posting ebay link..that anything I link to I do not bid on...unless I was showing you what I had just won:)
I won't link to anything I am bidding on cause I don't want anyone to bid against me:). They still might but no use in sharing it.

I just was unsure about the talk of shill bids and such. If I link something I find on ebay it is just for someone elses interest. I love to search ebay and if I find something someone is looking for I link it. I hope that is okay?

Sorry for the hijack...just wanted to make sure no one thought I was linking to up bids on my items (don't sell) or anyone I know items

Thanks for listening.

Don't worry! I did not get that impression at all! I don't ebay at all. But, it is nice to know what some of my sets are worth. I have been trying to get picks of all of my sets to turn into insurance.

pam5 07-15-2007 10:04 AM

Picks =pics as in pictures. Sorry no edit button!

Cathy H 07-15-2007 10:32 AM

I didn't get that impression, either. I think the topic of shill bids only came up because it contributes to the crazy pricing on some of these things.

ajcmeyer 07-15-2007 12:32 PM

Godspeed and the matching wheel Well Decorated are very hard to come by. I think a lot of the very popular mini sets are the coveted sets b/c they were only offered for a limited time and therefore are not as easy to come by.

scrapin'n'stampin 07-15-2007 12:53 PM

Like it a Latte is going on ebay with a buy it now price of $49.95USD!!!

ClaudiafromGermany 07-17-2007 03:52 PM

wow... most of the sets i do not know..
how old are they?

anirok 07-19-2007 07:12 AM

I saw that the Suzie Stamper set was listed as "rare" on ebay and most of the buy it now's were $50 and up.

There was a victorian looking dollhouse I saw going a while ago for well over $150

dacpam 07-19-2007 07:19 AM

Karen Stamps!,

I may have a Roosting set that I don't use anymore. If I can find it, do you want it? Let me see if I still have it! PM me if you are interested.

Englishrose 07-19-2007 07:23 AM

I've seen DreamCatcher going for $80. I was lucky and got it for $40 just a couple of months ago.

Katie018075 07-19-2007 07:57 AM

On the Farm, Fabric of Friendship (just sold mine for 45.00)...any older sets that weren't offered that long..
