Default RAK Request

Hello Ladies,
I have never asked for a RAK but thought this might be as good as time as any. It is for my husband who was recently in a cycling accident (bicycle). He races on the local track here & had a bad spill on Saturday. He crashed his bicycle going about 25 mph on an inclined track. He has suffered severe head trauma including swelling on his brain & a blood film on his brain as well. He broke his helmet in 7 places. He has multiple other bruises & scrapes.

Even though we are recently seperated he still is very special to me. If anyone is interested in sending a little cheer his way, please email me at [email protected] for his address.

To anyone who does NOT make their child wear a helmet PLEASE reconsider! I will gladly email you a picture of his helmet to show how easily it could have been his head. A crash this severe would have killed him had he not had his helmet on.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. My kids wear their helmets, but boy do they gripe and complain. Send me that pic to shut them up! I'll also send a card out to your husband. Hang in there.

Default UPDATE

Thank you to all who have said you would like to send James a RAK!!!

He did get released from the hospital yesterday. He is restricted to no bike of ANY kind (trainer, track or road bike) for at least 3 weeks. After another check up with the dovtors he MIGHT be able to ride at no higher than a 15 mph rate. He is not allowed to race competitively for one year. Another severe blow to his head could put him in a coma or kill him. He is a stubborn mule like most men (sorry to offend!!!) & is not taking that news lightly. He is an active racer & is actually very good at it.

Thank you all again for your kind words & prayers

Hi Jenna - I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby's accident (and I can understand that you still have feelings for him). A friend's husband was once hit in the back of the head by a bread truck's mirror while he was biking (and I'm pretty sure he didn't have a helmet on) - it was pretty touch and go for a while, but he made a full recovery. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I'd ask you to send me the address...but I've been so far behind on sending cards (need to make them first!) - but just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you - great big hugs coming your way!

James was just rushed back to the hospital a few hours ago (10:30 pm). He was severely throwing up again & just felt like something was not right.

I will let you know more later as soon as I hear something.

THANK YOU!!!! To all of you that took the time to send him a card. He loved them all
Thank you for your kindness. This is an awesome group of ladies!!! I am still waiting on the picture of his cracked helmet for those that wanted it.

OK It looks as though that James will be ok. He is still at the hospital In an observation room. His mom is hopeful that he will be released today sometime.

Apparently the platelet's in his head are shifting (not a bad thing) & are causing him to get sick & have headaches. I will let you know more when I hear it.
