Idea Quick tip - Decorative strips

You may already do this to enhance your cards. If not, here's a quick tip for making your own strips of foil and glitter strips to decorate your cards and envelopes instead of using washi tape or buying strips.

That is a great idea. Little things like those strips can really finish off a card very nicely. By the way, I have some tape that is probably that same width from scrapbook.com that is their brand and it is great.

Or, the strips can BE the card I've been doing strips for a lon-n-n-g time: cut, torn, fabric, ribbon, tape, foil, paper scraps, etc. It can look very effective and uses up all those little pieces you can't bear to throw away. (I would have uploaded an example but there's no option to browse my phone files, sorry). I'm fortunate that we're practically overrun with sticker options as shown in the video here in the southern hemisphere

The stickers that Jenny Card Designs is using are from Starform. I think it is a UK company, and they are readily available in Canada, where I am. EcstasyCrafts.ca in Ontario carries oodles of different ones as well as the strips. FranticStamper.com in the US carries them also.

Thank you for taking the time to post these vids for us! ((hugs))

I do strips all the time-fav way to use up scraps. Cover a whole card front...
I do strips with narrow DS tape and glitter. Just burnish it really well with my finger and dust with a brush. I like Elizabeth crafts for that but any ultra fine glitter works for total coverage. I also make my 2 x 2 samples that way with 1 inch tape. (you knew that was coming right-me being a sample freak? LOL) So I don't need to have glitter tape around. You can do a red strip and then use a hole punch to make berries etc. I luvs me some glitter

The one thing *I* would not do is the envelopes. I never like dimension on them. I am concerned they could peel back or the C/S will catch on other mail or the machines. But that is just *my* crazy. I have done it inside of a card though often.
