Questions about Cricut

My office (aka library) just got a Cricut. Rumor control has it that there is a cartridge you can get for it, that lets you use your own fonts. If this is so, could somebody please tell me the name of it. Is there one that you can use your own clip art?. I am sooooo excited to use this machine. We had a demo. yesterday, and I can see a lot of fun with it--don't worry my Big Shot, I still love you, and won't forget you! Thanks in advance. Deanna

There is an ongoing thread in Tools & Product specifically for Cricut. You can find it here:

You can search within the thread by using the drop down "Search this thread" feature on the right side at the top of the thread (not the top of the page).

It isn't a cartridge; it's a third-party software program. Actually, there are 2 of them: Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) and Make the Cut (MTC). With these programs, you can cut your True Type fonts and your own images. If you search for those terms here on SCS, you'll find lots of info. Have fun with the Cricut!

I've used both Sure Cuts Alot and Make the Cut. I prefer MTC much better. The cuts seems to be more precise and it's more user friendly. IMHO

I was wondering if one is better than the other. I saw the Pazzles at the CHA, but I already have the Cricut and software. I just started researching SCAL, so I am happy to see your thoughts about MTC being more user friendly. Thanks!
