If you place an order for $300....or any amount over $150 for that matter...but you do not have a party, are you qualified to receive any of the hostess benefits??
Yes. If you have an honest demo. I give the benefits to them. If you are going to spend the money, you are entitled to the benefits. I think the only thing I don't do, is give another catalog if they have already earned one. I will throw something else in as a thanks. If you have a demo who does not extent them to you, you may need to consider finding a new demo. You can do that on the su website under locate a demo.
Thank you so much. I haven't had a party in over a year...and my demo lives quite a distance away...so I don't get the catalog until the last minute or the night of the party. I feel pressured to have a party, but don't have too many free nights this month.....with a banquet and my mother-in-law's 50th, so I hate to keep inviting people to things in one month, but I can't miss the big SAB either!! Ha ha. Thanks for the info and advice. I appreciate it.
I'm sure your demo will realize that you are having a "catalog" party and then give you all the benefits. If you are doing your party in February and have $300 in sales, you'll also earn an extra SAB set!!
I wouldn't need anyone else to order to qualify as a catalog party? I guess I should really talk to my demo, but I don't know her very well. We've only met once and that was 2 years ago!
Definitely talk to her, but my guess is that if you tell her that you have a $300 order and you would like all of the benefits, she would say, "of course!" It doesn't matter if it's just you buying or you and 10 friends. You get the same benefits! Have fun deciding what freebies you want (sometimes that's the hardest part! lol!).
One other thing to add. If there is a problem with you getting the benefits, you can always find a new demo. If you want a local demo so that you can actually meet her, go to the demonstrator locator on www.stampinup.com.
If you order $300 during SAB, you should get all of the hostess benes listed in the catalog for that level, plus SEVEN SAB sets! One for each $50 spent, and another for hosting a party that reached $300. You could get all of the stamp sets and 2 sets of rub-ons!
Whoo hoo!! I've only been buying retired sets from ebay in the last 2 years...I'm dying for some new stamps all my own! It was my hubby's birthday present to me...I hate to spend money on myself...as a SAHM you try to cut corners, but still enjoy your hobbies....I can't wait to break loose on the new catty and SAB catty.
Let me qualify my following comment..I am not a current SU demo but was for 7 1/2 years and I am not sure of the SAB dates...so bear that in mind when I say the following. I have seen the new Spring mini and would suggest that you try to look at it...if you can hold off till March 1 you can order from it (really cools new stamps in it) and still earn the SAB benefits...if your demo won't give you the hostess benefits...try to find one here on SCS that will...I will bet you get a taker. I am no longer a demo...but would have loved to have had a nice customer like you. Good luck and happy shopping.

I completely agree. I *think* it is against SU! policy to NOT give hostess benefits when you spend enough for a hostess order, but I'm not 100% positive. I personally give all my customers (all 2 of 'em) my discount because I'm a hobby demo and struggle to make minimums on my own. Especially with so many stamp companies out there!

When I made my $300 order I found that I got more of what I wanted by having two $150 parties. This way I lost a couple of dollars in hostess dollars and the extra sale-abration set but in return I got to pick up two of the level one hostess sets which for me was what I wanted more. Just an idea... (I still got all six of the sale-abration sets this way)
