Can you leave the card out to be REFILLED when you are in need? Since he didn't have chocolate when he made it, maybe you can tell him he needs to supply the chocolate when you leave the card out in a special place.
(hey, it's worth a shot, right??? Gotta find a way to enlighten men to our chocolate cycles!)
