Default Question about pockets in new catty

On page 89, there is a pocket invite. The pocket is blue, but I can't find a blue pocket for sale. Only the neutral colored pockets. Is this correct or am I missing something I want to make this type invite for my son's birthday coming up and need to order the stuff and get busy tracing and cutting if there aren't pockets to sell in the color I want to use. Thanks!!

You can easily make them! Cut a strip of cardstock to 4.25x11 (in half longways). Then score at 5.5" and 4". Fold! It is SO easy! Search the gallery for pocket cards or SC26 and you'll see a TON!!

Thanks for measurements.
Do you use mono to adhere it or is there something better?

edited because I answered one of the questions myself.

I made a lot and received a lot of pocket cards, and ALL of them that use mono to glue the sides have come apart....so unless I'm going to use brads or eyelets as well, I'm switching to a stronger glue.

This is what I was afraid of. Honestly, I don't care for mono anyway. LOL Once I use the one I have, I will be switching to something else. Maybe I will have to go with a glue or even O so sticky tape. I would do eyelets or brads, but I need to do so many, I don't think I will have the patience.

To answer your question... -- and please, don't anyone take this as gospel, this is, as always, MNSHO!! -- and without starting any rumors:

I would suspect that they *could* be testing the waters to see if there is any interest in the neutrals colors. If so, they *could* launch more colors in a forthcoming mini-catty.

Another possible scenario: They *wanted* to release more colors in time for this catty, but product availability issues got in the way. If this is the case, I'd be willing to bet that with all of the demo P'ing&M'ing last year about product unavailability, they're handling up-front product availability issues differently.

As I stated up front: JMNSHO! ~ K

I use mono and hole punches... mono to keep the edges closed and I burnish really well and then I punch holes and run ribbon through, like this:

Hi,
I've been using mini glue dots - I put two mini dots on the right hand side (right under the part that folds down) and the left hand side. So, the lower part of each side is open. The mini glue dots hold just great.

I might have to try that too. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think I hope this happens, but they are pretty easy to make and I get to choose the color, so I am just not sure how I feel about it. LOL

I found 2 sided carpet tape at a dollar store, it is super sticky. I don't like my brad or eyelet backs to show so if I use them on pocket cards I punch a small circle to cover the backs

Another idea that hasn't been mentioned is to use - if you have one available to you - your sewing machine.

Default To see with the Brads...

If you are interested in seeing what they look like using brads to hold them in place, go to my gallery to look at my "LOVE" journaling pocket....

Just one more suggestion: Staples. Staple very close to the edges underneath the flap.
