Default Looking for tricks..........

Does anyone have any tricks to scanning a card with a watermark background? We just got a new scanner (Epson Stylus CX5400)--I've looked in the manual and I can't find a way to change the settings for a scan. I also tried using tone on tone ink and that didn't scan either :(

Any ideas?

you don't use the scanner to do it, you use a photo software like photoshop to do it.

That is the same scanner I have. I've noticed any fancy backgrounds just don't scan right. I have to use the digital camera for those. If you find a way let me know.

For photo editing I like Microsoft Picture It. My DH is trying a new 30 day download called ACDSee 6.0 He owns a computer company and needs to try out software to see if it is worthy of selling. It seems pretty good to me.

Maybe Linda is referring to the watermark that you can add to "brand" your card with the copyright/created by information?

I'm scanner impaired when it comes to the tone-on-tone or versamark/watermarked backgrounds. DD Glitter looks funky, too.

oops i thought you were asking how to make a watermark on your picture so people can't steal your pic, i are smart and can't read

maybe you can adjust the contrast when you edit your pic using photshop or something, the brightness/contrast adjustment should make it show up better. if you don't do that, maybe you could take the pic in really bright sunlight at different angles.
