Default medal search

Hi there,
what if you were to find a war veteran from those years and ask a few of them. They might even have a few medals for you to look at.
Or ask your friends and relatives if they have an older uncle or family member who was a soldier and who lives in your same town. They would be glad to show you their medals.

Last year some of the students in my son's class brought their grandfather's and grandmother's ( yes, women, too were active in the war) to school for their Rememberance Day assembly. They brought in a jacket/ hat and medals to show the students.

Another place would be to go look for ideas.... maybe the museum..... or I hate to say that I have seen medals in the pawn shops;(......

Oh, maybe check the internet.... but real ones give you a better idea!:0
Hope that helps .

Default Thanks

Why didn't I think of that..silly me...I will take and stamp it off plus take the wheel with me and take it to the Veteran's unit of the Soldiers Memorial Hospital ..there are four ladies there and about 20 men...That will surely give us lots to chat about....My Father ended up there before he passed away last Nov. He had Alzheimer's so I just never thought of asking him or checking out all his medals...(Now they are with him)....Too busy caring for Mom and Dad the last couple years. Anyway, I will be sure to let you all know what I find out, just need some time....Thanks so much...Sam

Oh, yes that would be a good place too ..... it'll be nice for the vets to have someone to chat about things. Hope you get some good ideas!
It'll be great for everyone all around. Nice to remember some things about your father too.... I miss mine too.

Take care! Helen
