Wow, someone gave some stamps like that away in the pay it forward thread if I remember correctly.
I just mailed out seven PSX Botanical Alphabet letters on Saturday for PIF, but those are smaller. This Anemone floral is their largest "K" size stamp. I found the alphabet stamps at the Salvation Army. It just depends on who is looking on e-bay and when you offer your stamp. I know quite a bit of their stock and I haven't seen that particular floral yet. I am LUSTING after the Queen Anne's lace "K" stamp, but it went so high today. Those "K" size stamps originally retailed for $12.95 to $13.95. It IS insane, isn't it? Oh...I'll bet you're thinking of the Turkey and the Two Turtle Doves...yep, gave those away too. [I've been in a CRAZY mood!] tee hee.....
Whenever I see one of these really high amounts, I have to wonder if the bidder entered a wrong amount as their maximum bid by mistake. I once had an auction with a winning bid of over $60 on an SU set, but the buyer never paid. I've got to think that happens sometimes. Can you imagine thinking you bid 19.49 on something and then find out you won it for 192.49!!! lol!

I totally understand what you're saying about errors being made when entering the price, but below is an actual cut and paste from the auction. I just kept the bids and the dates and times. If you'll scroll down to the bottom and work your way back up, you can see how it progressed. The person who won it was the one who made the initial bid and never bid again until placing the winning bid. It jumped from $67 to $153.99 and then went crazy from there!
I HAVE to tell you a story about my little grand-daughter. McDonalds was giving away Smurf figurines this summer and before my daughter could get them all, they stopped the promotion. So, she thought, "No problem, I'll look on e-bay." She thought she'd surprise my grand-daughter by getting the rest of them and putting them in her Christmas stocking. Daughter has definite rules about bidding. She sets an amount in her head and doesn't go over it. So, she won one and was bidding on another. The auction ended and she had won, but the amount was way more than she would ever pay. She check her bidding and was surprised to see that she had missed the decimal point. The seller was not understanding at all. So daughter had to pay a good price for said Smurf. Daughter just couldn't believe she could do something like that, so went back to investigate her bidding process. LONG STORY short...SEVEN YEAR OLD grand-daughter had used her mom's fancy phone to go into e-bay and change the bid! [Daughter is always letting her play games on the phone.] Since she just started second grade she hasn't started learning about DECIMAL points yet. She is a bright child, my grand-daughter, LOL...she had watched her momma use her phone to bid on e-bay and she just went in to change the amount because she was afraid mom was going to lose.
In her defense...they never told her she couldn't bid on ebay! LOL...but she's not allowed to anymore! Daughter told her she would have gotten one eventually and tried to explain the whole process. Aren't kids amazing???

How was she able to sign in to bid???? Ebay always signs me out. Noone in my family can bid on my account without logging in with a password.

That's what I asked. Daughter didn't have her password in place on the phone. [I'm not sure if I'm using the right terms.] Anyway, I told her if she didn't want that happening again perhaps she should consider doing so.
But grand-daughter understands NOW that she is NOT to do any bidding. LOL
"...I use to describe." No, you're not the only one!

I read this thread and went to my stamp room to look.... yep, I have one of those! Maybe I should put it on E-bay. I like it, but I'm not so tied to it that I wouldn't sell it for big $$$.

I would TOTALLY sell it if I had one, good luck if you decide to
and probably right now is a perfect time, with one recently ending ;)
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you...
