Does anyone have a tip on how to adhere velum so you can not see the adhesive underneath it? I've tried so many different products, and they just don,t seem to work.
Either covering it with spray adhesive or running it through a Xyron machine to make it into a sticker seem to be the most popular methods from what I've seen here! Of course, there's always the tried-and-true method of eyelets and brads! Some folks use those to hide the dots of mono or hermafix. Also, I've heard that SU! vellum cardstock hides adhesives like vellum tape much better than the thinner paper.

I use spray adhesive. It works like a charm. You can find it at about any craft store and probably even Walmart.
The only thing is that you want to make sure you spray it over something, a trash can or a box, or you will have sticky everywhere. Also be careful not to spray it on your hands our your hands will be sticky too.
I just got a Xyron 510, and it's perfect for this! That was one of the first things I tried, b/c I was tired of using brads/eyelets whenever I wanted to use vellum. I definately think a Xyron is a worthwhile investment.
I have used vellum adhesive and then covered the area with some organdy ribbon. I also use brass and silver fasteners (brads) a lot.. sometimes I fold over cardstock to cover the adhesive too (and then attach fasteners).. if that makes sense.
3M makes tape especially for use with vellum. It is wonderful! They sell it in scrapbook and stamping stores. They may also sell it at Michaels and Joannes - I am not sure. But there - you could use a coupon.
The tape has a liner on it. You put the tape on the vellum, rub it with a hard item (I use the scrapers from Pampered Chef for the stones). Then you peel the liner off, and adhere your vellum to your cardstock or whatever.....
I love the tape designed to work with vellum. You do need to be careful though - once you adhere it and remove the protective tape - don't touch the tape with your fingers - the oil from your finger seems to discolor the tape and it shows through the vellum.
Pear52: Like when I taught cartography, I'd tell my interns - wash your hands before you start and mutiple times in-between. Some of the guys had to wear thin cotton gloves. Oh, of course, that was before we computerized.
I also use Creative Memories new clear photo splits. They work great and I don't have the problem w/the stickiness of the vellum adhesive spoke of in earlier posts. Rather than a long strip of tape, these are about 1/2" ovals that dispense from the box individually. They come out of the box, w/a sticky side and protected side. After adhereing to the project, you remove the protective side paper and voila......no adhesive gunk on your hands or where you didn't want it.
If anyone would like them, I'm a Creative Memories consultant .
Has anyone tried Crystal Effects to adhere vellum? I heard it would work without showing, but I haven't tried it yet.

Shows through, spreads out even though I was carefull with the amount. Three years ago I made 200 Christmas cards for a convention swap using dry embossed, torn vellum and tried everything to adhere. This was before 3M Vellum tape. I had to use glitter over the places I had put Crystal Effects. I had to cancel convention at the last minute because my husband had surgery. So I had lots of Christmas cards, my upline took 50 to convention to swap for me, I used for some local swaps, gave some to relatives. I still had some not put together and I finished those off this year with 3M to give to DD and DDIL. I still used glitter because I liked that look but I didn't have to worry about the spreading CE.
By the way - even though it was past cancellation cut off date wonderful SU! refunded my registration fee, the doctor faxed a statement to them and they returned my registration 100%.
