Post Your Father's Day Cards HERE!

I always find the creative process when designing a masculine card the most challenging of all the creating I do. Choosing appropriate color schemes, imagines and layouts can be a struggle. Because I know there are so many of you out there making your cards today or tomorrow ,or for the overachievers in the community who got their cards done last month, I would love to see your take on a Father's Day card. Share your secret to a great masculine card!

Post it in this thread.

This is my father's day card. It is very simple, but because it is for my father I didn't want to use embellishments, because I don't have anything nice for a man. I used the dog stamp from Penny Black. I thought he was perfect with his tie.

Here is the one I made...my 2 boys are obsessed with space and astronauts!

Mis.ty 06-14-2008 02:59 PM

Great cards!! I always struggle a bit with masculine cards - I love that stamp companies are coming out with some great "masculine" stamps recently!! Here's mine...

stampingonit 06-14-2008 04:03 PM

here is the one I made Father's Day

stampinsweeney 06-14-2008 04:14 PM

You're such an overachiever! I still need to make my FIL's and my father's. At lleast I have DH's done! ;)

Snellybelle 06-14-2008 04:34 PM

This is funny, we have wireless at our house so right now dh and I are in our recliners in our livingroom, both of us on our laptops .. he is oblivious that his fathers day card is being sent through the air waves because he is busy looking at ......PICKUPS .. ha

happy heart.. great cards, especially that lawnmower one.
I might have to look for that stamp.. I'd like to stamp it inside a circle with a slash through it.

beadfreak22 06-14-2008 05:02 PM

This is a great thread! I made three Father's Day cards this year ~ one for my father, one for my father-in-law, and one for my husband.

Keep them coming!

lynnewithane 06-14-2008 05:12 PM

My father has been gone for almost nine years now; my father in law a year longer than that. So, the only card I needed to make was for my husband, the father of my two wonderful children.

I made 4 cards like this one. One for my dh, one for my son, one for my son-in-law and one for my step-son.

They are guys of course, and don't really care about cards, but I know their wives will appreciate them!

To Happy Heart: You continue to amaze me -- I love all of your cards!! And if my camera hadn't "lost" the photo somehow, I'd love to upload the one for my Dad :(

ckbythesea 06-14-2008 06:22 PM

This is the card I sent my dad this year. I added a father's day sentiment inside.

After looking through all the great cards on this thread, I'm not sure I want to post mine!
Oh well, here it is anyway.

LittleSeaOtter 06-14-2008 06:37 PM

All of your creations look great. The Dads out there sure are going to love them all.

My card for my Dad is not so masculine looking, but it is meaningful:

Masterpiece Father

It's great! Don't hesitate to post your work. Lord knows I have a long way to go! II think of it as posting your pictures on the fridge. It's just a REALLY big fridge that everyone can see! ;)

okstamper 06-14-2008 07:02 PM

Here is mine! I had to make a quick one, as that I have been very busy. I hope you like it. The butterfly is embossed using black powder and is on there with pop dots.

For my Dad: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=144026 I don't have any stamps that say Happy Father's Day so I printed it out on the computer then put the card together. I was too lazy to do it again for the second card, lol.

For my FIL: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=144026

That is just too darn funny! DH and I look just like that - only I don't have a recliner. I send him email sometimes with links rather than just telling him a url to look at.

Back to topic. Here is my Father's Day card that I made for DH. We don't have children together, but I've watched him over the years being a great dad to his sons.

Hey Milawi - great minds think alike. Love your card too.

Here's the card I made with my class last month for Father's Day. It was fun to do.
