Default Post-it note ?

How do you keep the top of the post-it notes from separating into section when using them on a plastic frame for a notepad?
I stamp a small image on the lower part of each sheet and sometimes the pad will break into sections. I have tried using red line tape across the top and to secure the post-it notes to the project.
Any suggestions?

I wonder if masking tape might hold it together temporarily (just while you are stamping) and come off clean before you mount it. I'm thinking a wide strip would keep it together and you would only waste the top page.

How about clamping a small binder clip onto the pad to keep the sheets from being able to separate beyond, say, 1/2" from the top?
