Default pictures of entire sets for the gallery (questions for you)

I know this has been discussed before, and I believe that a bunch of us would benefit from them. Please view this thread: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156426 and tell me what you think by answering the following questions:
  • Do you think this sounds like something people would participate in?
  • Would you find it useful?
  • Does it sound like it would work?
  • Any other thoughts/suggestions?
  • Aren't Kellestamps' examples da bomb?! (see post #3 in the above link)
  • Have I left off an important question?
Thanks so much for your input!!!
Leslie

if I have the book with me It's usually mot something I would think of.But yes there have been a few times.Like for example right now in the preview sets for the new catalogs.or whenever the mini catalog come out before we as customers get them in our hands.that is a good time to show the full sets in just 1 picture.
But I guess that's why we need to be a demo to see the whole sets first.that's one of the benefits of being a demo.you egt to get free sets first and sample them out and show them here. That's what's so great about scs.
not every site even offers this much.so I guess we can consider our selves lucky.but yes it would be nice.
the other thing is if they do post the whole set before the customers see it.It becomes a problem with some demos.when it comes to buying they want thier customers tofinish up the quarters for the mini catalogs sets that come before they start showing more sets.some customers do tend to not place an order and hold out for the next months and that can hurt thier sales.

I wasn't thinking about for mini-catalog stuff, though that would work, too. IMO, demo's should never try to manipulate their customers by witholding information from them, quotas or not. People are going to buy what they like and would feel betrayed if they found out someone was intentionally witholding new mdse. from them to get them to buy NOW to satisfy a quota. I know I would! I'd be finding a new demo!! I love sneak-peeks, and though I see no difference in demos posting cards using not-yet-released sets or posting an index for it, I wouldn't have a problem with waiting to post the index until that catty came out if it would cause problems. That's just my opinion.

But I digress.....

The purpose I'd thought of using these indexes for was for times when you didn't have a catty (or an old catty if the item was retired) and wanted to see what all was in the set. As a frequent lurker on the BST board, I know that I am always hitting eBay to look up a set I see offered here if I don't know what it looks like. I am so aggravated if I can't find it there & don't have the catty it's from! And I can't tell you how many times I'll see a set mentioned in a post & can't recall what it looks like. It would be so easy to just hit the gallery! So many of the flower sets' names sound alike (Bud Basics, Blossoms & Buds, Bud Builders, etc) & I get them so confused!! Or maybe I'm wanting to post to a thread that asks "what's your favorite summer set?"....I can't remember which one has the boy sitting with his daddy...is it Summer by the Sea, Seaside Sketches or just plain ol' Sketches?!
I hereby nominate kellestamps to coordinate this project (and she's free to use my ideas from the other link, or not...whatever she chooses!! I'll volunteer to help her in any way she needs it, too)! Any seconds?

Leslie

Hi Kristina, Did you see the examples in the other link? To me, they're just cards, but we would definitely want to make sure!

Well I've made my first contribution Hope it fits in - I did the Birthday Banter set and it's uploading into the index card gallery. I've also done Flowers of Forgiveness and Oriental Brushstrokes but my batteries died in the camera so I have to charge those before I can take a picture and upload (scanning didn't work too well).

Did you see in the other thread where Daven moved yours to the Birthday Banter gallery now & made it a sticky?! It'll always be the 1st card people see!!! And if he can figure out how to make it a thumbnail, they'll see it on the page where it lists all of the "B" sets, right in front of the link for that set! Yippee!!!
