Photoshop stitching

I really did not know which forum to post this too. But I was wondering if anyone had any instructions of how to stitch two items together in Photoshop like say 12x12 scrapbook pages? I just got the software and am trying to learn how to do it so I can post all the Scrapbook Challenges I'm catching up on.

What version of photoshop are you using? I have Photoshop elements 2.0 and I can give you directions on how to do a photomerge in that program. It is super easy.

Photomerge...

Here is where you start.....
Click on the File menu, then on Photomerge. It will ask you to choose which photos you want to merge. I have not actually used this feature myself. Good luck!

If you have PSCS the easiest way I have found is to open a new image a bit larger than your finished image will be.

Copy your first side and paste it into that image. Copy your second side and paste it as a new layer.

In your layer palette on the right you'll see a drop down for blending mode, change that to differrence. Now part of your image will be black.

Move it around until it's totally black in the overlapping area. Now change the blending mode back to normal.

Merge the layers crop and save.

You will get a line, but I don't know if there's anyway around that.

Thank you so much for the replies. I will get cracking trying to figure this out.
