Photopolymer storage question

The other day I saw someone stored their photopolymer stamps on the DVD case itself. They took the clear sheet that had the images and put it on the outside of the case and then laid their stamps inside over the images. Hope that makes sense. I can post a picture later if you need to see what I'm talking about. But I'm just wondering if it's okay to put the photopolymer stamp directly on the cases for storage for the long haul? This seems like an awesome way of saving space but I've only done it with one set until I know if it will hurt my stamps or not.

I had some of my cheapie clear stamps stored in CD cases for five or six years with no problems. However, the word on the street is that clear stamps and acrylic have a melting-like chemical reaction after being stuck together awhile. So, for that reason I would not chance it with any clear stamp that you love.

I keep reading about people using Grafix Duralar sheeting. You might want to attach a piece of that as a liner inside the case and store the stamps on top of the liner.

I'm not sure the SU cases are acrylic. Do you know?

When I get new photopolymer stamp sets the first thing I do is peel each stamp off of the image sheet so they at least have been pulled off. I had a set given to me and it was very very hard to pull the stamps off the image sheet and I'm thinking it was because they had never been pulled off before.

I believe the SU! DVD cases are polyester, in which case they should be fine. There's a whole discussion here: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...e-t590238.html

Thanks for the link, Sue. Very good reading and it does look like su cases are OK.

Thanks for finding that linked thread, Sue! Good info in there for those who are pondering storage re-do's for their stamps in 2016!

For all you young gals, this is a serious point to ponder. I'm OLD and my stamps will most likely outlive me....protected or not protected My kids/husband will call in a dumpster when I'm gone and all my "card-making" stuff will be gone in one fell swoop. So for now I'll continue on as I have been. : )

Tons of info in that other thread. Now my head is swimming! I wish I could find the thread where the person said she put her photo polymers directly on the case and slid the image sheet in the outside pocket. That way she could put each stamp on the spot where the image was. I'll take a picture so you can see what I mean.

Here's what I'm talking about. One is case open and stamps sticking to the case. Other is case closed looking at the back.

Isn't Mary Fish the one who uses that method for storing her unmounted stamps in SU cases?

I don't know. I'll go check! Thanks!

Her website is a bit overwhelming. Couldn't find anything. I'll keep looking around. I know I saw it somewhere recently.

Maybe you just meant unmounted rubber. I'm looking for photopolymer stored on the case.
