Photo software?

What photo software would you recommend for someone who would like to starting printing and editing her own photos?

Photoshop Elements is a great beginner program. :)

EllenH 12-17-2006 03:20 PM

My vote goes to Photoshop Elements too! :D

ITA. We now have Adobe Photoshop, but I still love Elements because it's so quick and easy.

Are you willing to struggle and learn if so go with Photoshop it does everything. But, if you don't want to take on a huge learning curve go with Elements.

If you ever think you will want to take the next step in photography I would say go for the Photoshop.

My vote go for photoshop elements. It is inexpensive....it can do everything that you would like to do now... and then if you want you can switch to the more expensive software...

dianerh 12-17-2006 06:59 PM

Another vote for Elements!!!! ;-)

Carol Lee 12-17-2006 07:02 PM

I love Adobe Photoshop.

Another vote for Elements! You can learn/do as much or as little as you like with this program. If you decide to buy this program, shop around for price. Amazon had decent prices the last time I checked.

I use Picasa. its free online and does most everything I'd like it to do. I cant do any digital scrapbooking, but has many different photo editing, cropping, printing functions. here's a link so you can check it out for yourself

I would vote for Elements as well. My friend works for Adobe and knows I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar when it comes to computer programs. So I have Elements.

Photoshop elements has a free 30 day trial download so you can try it out before buying... thats what I'm doing right now. I think I have about 20 more days to go.

I am fairly computer illiterate and I use Photshop Elements. Fairly easy to use.

Kris McGinn 12-29-2006 05:48 AM

I use Microsoft PictureIt. It came with my computer (for a slight cost) and I love it. It's not as advanced as Photoshop, but it's very easy to use. I don't do a whole lot of editing - mostly cropping and fixing red-eye, but I love it!

I have picture it too and I just love it. It came on a computer I bought about 7-8 years ago, and I've reloaded it on every one I've had since then. It is a great program - simple to use!

Personally I LOVE my PaintShop Pro! I've tried all the others, but PSP is my fave! Of course, that's the one I learned on, so I may be prejudice to it....;)

optotecha 12-30-2006 05:07 PM

I have photoshop elements 2.0, can anyone tell me what the differences are between 2.0 & the new 5.0 version?

corinnesmith 12-30-2006 05:30 PM

I absolutely love Paint Shop Pro. I scrapbook, stamp and make cards. I've tried most of the others, but always end up back with PaintShop Pro. You can get a free trial online. It's got all you need as a beginner and then plenty to do once you learn more too. Have fun!:-D
