Default Stamping Magazine Reccomendations

Hi! Since I'm fairly new to stamping, I'd like some recommendations for magazines that are must-haves when it comes to getting ideas and learning techniques. As it is, I'm glued to SCS and the forums and galleries here, but I thought it would be interesting to get still more ideas. I subscribe to the major scrapbooking mags and "Paper Crafts", and love getting inspired with each issue. Which are your favorites for stamping, specifically?

(I do know I'll be getting some inspirational magazines from SU once they process my demo application -- I'm STILL waiting! -- but I'm looking for more!)

Thanks,

I like Paper Crafts and Creating Keepsakes, and I love the Making Memories books (Thinking of You and Paper Cache) They have tons of ideas to steal, and you can incorporate stamping with lots of them. If you have a ReCollections nearby, they have lots of idea mags and books. I've also seen a post about ?CardCreator? not sure if that is right. Oh, and Card Creations by Paper Crafts is good too. Anyway, JMHO. Enjoy!

And if you want to try cool new techniques, you may want to look into subscribing to the Technique Junkies newsletter (see www.patstamps.com). It's a full color newsletter published about 6 times per year - filled with techniques and "how to" photos. And Pat's site has a great gallery of samples using the techniques.

I like the Rubber Stamper and Stamper's Sampler Take Ten issues. Stamper's Sampler has gotten more and more "artsy" and much of it isn't my style, but I still buy most issues anyway (with a coupon!) because I love their "Take Ten" section of easy cards that use many SU stamps. Then a couple times a year they do a whole Take Ten issue that's *awesome* - I wish that would come out every month!

But really, the very best resource for learning how to stamp is RIGHT HERE ON SCS!!!!!!!! Look at the galleries, ask questions, try the techniques described in the resource section! It's the best!

Default Magazines

My very favorite magazine is Vamp Stamp News. It's nothing fancy (not glossy only front and back cover and two pages in the middle in color) but the gal that writes it does a really really good job. She covers lots of information and many different styles. Tons of tips and techniques. It's one of the few mags that I actually go back to for ideas. The website is www.vampstampnews.com she has some sample articles up so people can get a feel of what the magazine is like. I'm not affliated in any way I just really like this small publication.

I would say that my all time favorite is the "Rubber Stamper" Lately, I have been enjoying the new "CardMaker" magazine too. I also subscribe to "PaperCrafts", some months I like others are just okay. I think it all boils down to your own personal taste and what you are looking for. I recommend that you go to a bood book store with a huge magazine selection, buy a few of the different mags mentioned here and see what ones you like!
