Default Personalized stamp is wearing out...

Has anyone purchased the personalized name stamps that SU! offers? I'm on my second one and some of the letters on both have worn down, so that when I stamp I only get a partial impression. On both stamps it has happened with the letters on the edges of the stamp. Tonight I compared the personalized stamp with the generic copyright stamp, and the generic one is much more deeply etched. Am I making sense here? Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine's wearing out, too. But that stamp is used on every card I make. I'm not certain, but I would imagine it's not as deeply etched since it's a one of a kind stamp and they don't have a "standing" plate for it like the generic ones.

Wow, that's a new one on me! I've had mine for 6 or so years now and haven't noticed anything like that. When were yours made?

They are a different consistency than the regular stamps. They are made a totally different way than the rubber stamps. They are laser cut by computer onto some kind of polymer stuff. NOT the same type as clear stamps, I don't think.

Anyway, I would say you should contact your demo and have her call SU. I imagine it depends on how long you've had the stamp, but if it's been a really short time, I think they should replace it.

I used to use the generic ones all the time, and have had no problem with them wearing out. In addition to being more deeply etched, the rubber seems firmer. I wonder if they would replace the personalized ones?

Mine has worn out too. I used it for about 2 years on probably 400+ cards. I'm not happy that it didn't last longer, especially for the price.

I can't use mine anymore, 3 letters in my full name aren't recognizable.

I bought a personalized one just over a year ago and it is not etched very deep either. From the first time stamped I have a hard time getting an impression. It annoys me all the time as I am an image perfectionist!! LOL!

It works good enough -not as if the stamp on the back is that closely looked at. I just chalked it up to being a one time thing, but now I wonder???

Same here. In fact, I demanded a refund for it it was so bad. I got the refund and they told me to keep the stamp. I've used it some since then, but not very often (it's an address stamp, not a back of card stamp). I don't think they are worth the $ personally.

Ah man! I wish I asked for a refund. Too late now, been over a year. Oh well...

Mine has always given me a clear image. I've had it for close to two years.

Interesting to see that this has happened to others, as well. I was looking through the catty last night and will probably just order the current generic set; it has some cute stamps. Just wish I could find a personalized stamp the same quality as SU! regular stamps---I really like to stamp my name on my work! KWIM?

My mom bought one of the personalized stamps. The first one would not stamp a clear image at all, so we sent it back. The second one wouldn't stamp clearly, either, so she requested a refund. What a headache!

The SU personalized stamps are very poor quality and I've discouraged everyone that's asked about them from ordering them.

Not worth the money...and SU is well aware of the quality issues, as it's been going on since I was a demo (and I haven't been one in almost four years).

I had one for about 5 yrs that wore out on me. I just purchased a new one about a month or so ago and it is much better quality. I don't know if it is the different font or what?

I have two personalized rubber stamps from Stampin' Up! One is still in great condition while the other one isn't. They where purchased about two years apart and the newer one (purchased 2 years ago) is the one that doesn't work as well. The older one is fine but is a wierd font that I don't like - which is why I bought the newer one.

I've had much better success with personalized photopolymer stamps that I purchased from Village Impressions. I use that stamp to put my website on the back of all my cards and it's still going strong.

SU!'s personalized stamps have been inferior quality for the eight years I've been associated with them.

You know, I'm really surprised they keep selling the personalized stamps given the low quality. They seem to be so hung up on quality. Strange.
