Default More new scrapbooking and stamping product pics from CHA - WOW

In my never ending quest to seek out current product information I came across Scraptalk's website which is LOADED with pictures of new product releases. The pictures are not nearly as large or vibrant as the ones on the link I posted yesterday - Lifetime Moments, but WOW, WOW, WOW is all I could say when I headed over to Scraptalk's site.
One of the cooler tools I came across in my quest is Fiskar's new punches that "squeeze" - yep you squeeze them to punch out your shape and they are designed to be used with the "hole" facing up so that you can see precisely where you are punching. Gotta LOVE new gadgets!
Another is Doodlebug's new paper frills - how cool is that! For the life of me I can't figure out what they are made out of though. Is it paper, is is plastic like their little flowers, is it a fabric like material??? Someone help me out - I can't seem to figure it out! I will continue in my quest until my ?ing mind finds the answer
Look at all the names of the many, many manufacturer's vieing for our hard earned dollars - LOL. No wonder Oprah has to do specials on learning to save - I will admit it I am a happy addict - enjoying ever minute of this purely pleasurable "business".
So share your insights here or head over to my blog and share (you could win a free goodie package over there) My curious mind needs to know what it is that you won't be able to live without! what you believe will be the hottest new item/trend!

Ellen... I looked at the Paper Frills by Doodlebug and I want to say that they looked like a thin chipboard material. I could be wrong, though! I spent quite a few minutes in that booth... they have the most awesome 3D project designer! I told her how much I drooled over the winter ad that featured the snow/snowmen shadow box! I will try to edit and post some of the pics I took of the show. I didn't take many, but will share what I did get.

Me, too!!!! I didn't realize that individual was there, or I would have begged an audience with her!!! AMAZING skill!!!

As it was, I just stood and MARVELED at it. Doodlebug displays are so incredible--always the best at the show, I think!

Although, Jess, did you see the K & Co. displays? I PIMPd at the dresser they had featuring the glitter letters. INCREDIBLE!!!

Yes, I took practically the same exact picture of the glittered chipboard letter projects by K & Co. that you did! I also took the same Doodlebug haunted house pic! I think the Doodlebug lady was a little taken aback by my exact recollection of the winter ad... I was so stinkin' inspired by that darn thing and I was just over the moon to see the haunted house from the next ad in person!

new Whipper Snapper stamp by Anna Wight (SweetMissDaisy)...

CHA-Annasstamp1.jpg

and some samples made with some of her other new stamps (I believe the 2 on the top right and the 2 on the bottom left are her stamps)...

Oh Jessica - thank you for the information on the Paper Frills - it has been driving me crazy knowing that I can't fondle those for some time! LOL

I am so thrilled that you and Julie were able to meet each other and vice versa Julie I am so thrilled you had the chance to meet Jessica!!! I can hardly wait - you girls NEED to go to the winter show in Anaheim so that I can meet you there. I am DETERMINED to be there this time!!!

To try and answer MkMiracleMakers question my guess is that the answer to your question is probably not. Most manufacturers don't sell to "people" unless they have a brick and mortar store or a legitimate internet business. I'm certain that others will be able to answer this question a whole lot better than I can!

AND last but not least - Jessica - I can't see the pictures from Whipper Snapper am I blonde or blind? LOL! Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm with us and I am SOOOOO very proud of you!!! I keep looking and waiting for Paper Salon to post your designs!!!

Hi, Ellen! That's weird about not being able to see the pics. I can see them when I come back to this thread... can everyone else see them?

I may or may not be at the next CHA. I hope I get to, though, so I can meet you in person!

As for SU demos being able to go to CHA based solely on their demoship... I'm not sure that that information is correct. (I'm not a demo, so I'm not claiming to know for sure... I'll just tell you what I do know.) CHA requires all attendees to be registered before the show as an exhibitor, a retailer, a manufacturer, etc. and the company that you go with must submit your name to get you the badge, etc. Each company is also limited in the number of badges it receives. Because of those reasons, I would be a little suprised if SU demos could go based solely on their demoship. (If said SU demo is hooked up with a retailer, design team, internet store, etc. then they would be going to CHA under that company, not SU.)

Exhibitors are not allowed to sell actual product at the show - we are only allowed to take orders for product which will then be delivered later. We are not allowed to take payment and then hand you the product. That's sort of the way CHA is designed... specifically to sell product to retail stores... not directly to consumers. Even if I went to the Basic Grey booth, for example, I could not place an order for anything from them because I am not a retailer. Also, nearly everything is sold in bulk... it's not like you can buy one piece of paper, one stamp, one whatever. Retailers are purchasing paper by packs of 25 or 50 sheets, stamps by whatever the minimum order is (so it would be like 5 of the same exact stamp), etc. Although I, and everyone else there, would be in heaven if we as consumers could purchase products while we're there... we can't :( . It's really a forum for retailers to see what's new from each company and place their orders for the products they decide to carry.

And that's probably way more info than anyone ever needed, or even wanted ;) to know!
