I need to make a goodbye/thank you/good luck card for my personal trainer that is leaving. Does anyone have any ideas for cards using layered circles, etc. to look like dumbells ??
Thanks for any help you can give.

Jumping in on this thread, but only to see what other way more creative than me people out there come up with. My first thought was the bella stamp that's got the girl holding dumbells....little Ms. Barbella
That would be cute, but unfortunately I need it for tomorrow. I am always the procrastinator !!! And, my trainer is a guy, so I need it a little more manly (but I want that stamp for myself !!).

Yeah, sorry....I checked out your blog after I wrote in about the barbella and realized it wouldn't work. Kind of surprised you haven't gotten any other ideas though. The SCS girls rock and always blow me away with their creative ideas.
BTW, congratulations on all your achievements with the trainer. Sounds like you're a whole new woman now. I worked with a trainer for the past year and haven't gotten hooked up with a new one since our move this summer. Have gone to the gym a few times on my own, but it just isn't the same for me if I don't have someone other than myself to be accountable to. With my running I have the finish line of a race, with weights not so much. Will have to get back on it!

ooh, that might work. I will try it. I came up with a pretty generic looking card. Most of my stamps are all girly or cutesy, and that just doesn't fly when trying to stamp for a 25 year old man! haha.
Thanks for the idea !!!

I need the accountability too. I'm starting in with a new trainer Friday ... but not sure she's the one I want. I kind of want to go with another guy (have worked out with another woman trainer before) and I think I work a lot harder with a guy. I don't know if I'm trying to prove something or what, but I like it better.

Somebody here used the pieces from the spiral punch to make dumbbells - maybe for the frog from Unfrogettable? I can't remember for sure, but it was way cute.

Could simply punch some circles and use a silver pin to put some marks on the circles to make them look more like weights... either draw a straight line or use a q-tip stick of something for the actual bar.
OMG, that is too stinkin' cute. You know I did see that one while searching thru the gallery and I was thinking how the heck did they make them. I will know for the future ... but then again I don't have the frog. Hmmmm, which stamps of mine could be holding those?
You are so clever !!!

Do you have the set 'Crab and Co' from SU? That would work, his little claws are up in the air waiting to hold something.
I made a card for my trainer today, but it's a woman and anniversary card. The theme wont work for you, but thought I'd throw out the suggestion of not using a workout/gym themed card just so you dont drive yourself nuts!

No I don't hve that one either LOL. Guess I need to buy some sets specifically to be able to hold things hehehe.
I ended up doing a generic thank you/good luck type card and I used office accoutrements. It was the only thing I could think of that could be used for a man. Most of my stamps are either cutesy cutesy, or flowery.
Thanks for the idea !!!!
