Paper Studio Embossing Folders?

Please excuse me if this has been addressed before, but I can't find it! I have Googled and searched on here. Yes, I downloaded all the pdf files on Big Shot FAQ.

What sandwich do I use with Paper Studio embossing folders?
TIA

Copying from the description of one of the folders (when clicking on an image of a folder listed):

"The embossing folders will work with leading die cutting machines. The A2 folders measure 4 1/4" x 5 3/4" and create 4" x 5 1/2" designs."

Therefore, it works just like any other embossing folder in the Big Shot.

Now on my Big Shot that has been used tons of times, I have to use the "no tabs" of my platform, first cutting pad, embossing folder with cardstock inside), second cutting pad for ALL the plastic embossing folders no matter if Stampin Up (exclusives made by Sizziz), Sizzix, Tim Holtz (exclusives made by Sizzix), Cuttlebug, Darice, QuikCutz. Therefore, IF I had a Hobby Lobby nearby and access to these Paper Studio embossing Folders, I would use the same sandwich.

Have fun.

The more I look at the Music Notes, I would get one if had someone going on a trip to area with a Hobby Lobby store. Not willing to pay $5.95 to have it shipped to me for a $4.99 folder.

Thank you!! I'm not very adventurous with it yet. I'm afraid to try things, cause I might break my new toy!! I really need to get over that.

One rule to remember and you will be fine:

If it doesn't want to go through, DON'T force it.

(don't be frightened by "cracking or popping sounds as it is cutting or rolling past the smaller folders or a sizzlit folder etc -- that is all normal)

Okay, so if I'm not sure I'll err on the thin side. I used some nesties a little while ago and wow! Double matting my stuff without tons of measuring is way cool!!

Thanks MN

Hey, my name is Carole too

I tried this sandwish with the Paper Studio woodgrain EF and it tears through the paper. Not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Julie

You are supposed to use tab one, not no tabs.

a little off topic, but there are a couple Hobby Lobby's here in MN! I've gone to the Rochester one when I was in that area, and I know my aunt has gone to one that's near Fargo! Just thought I'd let you know in case you're ever in those areas! I got a few of the embossing folders when I was there. (they were some great designs that were unique to that brand!) Wish there was a Hobby Lobby closer to me, it's a really fun store! (And if you're ever near St. Cloud, be sure and check out Crafts Direct, it's AMAZING!!!!!!) :)

I've had the same thing happen with that folder. I think anything with linear designs is more likely to tear. I've heard of people misting their paper before embossing, I'm going to try that and see if it works. Give it a try, maybe that'll be just what works! You could also try using no tabs (open up all tabs on your platform) so there's less pressure on your folder. Sometimes that works, but it doesn't give as deep of an impression. Hope you get it to work! :)

I suspect the thin linear lines are the problem as well. I'll give misting a try. Thanks!
