8 1/2 x 11 sheets (most of my stash) goes in a 2 drawer file cabinet with each color having its own folder, with similar colors nearby (i.e. blues, pinks, reds). 12 x 12 sheets are neatly stacked on a shelf (but I don't have a lot of this, so this works for me), and out of sunlight.

Ahhh, gotcha. I have TONS of 12x12 paper too. I think the majority of my paper is 12x12 because I also scrapbook. I have those metal crates you can find at Target or Costco and I put them together in a tall tower. I put them together so that I have shelves about 2 inches high and I have some colors separated. I will have to take a picture of it... well as soon as I get a new USB cord to my camera, I discovered that my dog at mine!

Yep my full sheets of cardstock the 8 1/2 x 11 are in a 2-drawer file system. I have 2 SU families in the top and 2 families in the bottom. All of my 12x12 papers, which are alot since I have a ton of Simply Scrappin' Kits and Designer Papers and all the colors for the 12x12 cardstock they are in the Cropper Hopper 12x12 system that you can get from Mikes. I just use my 40% and you get the big section which holds 200 sheets, 4 paper pouches which each hold 50 and then 12 dividers. It's called Vertical Paper Organizer (just found the box) by Cropper Hopper. Don't forget to keep all your paper out of the sunlight.

All my SU scraps I keep in the file folder they belong with, but any other scraps, like patterned paper or Bazzil, I keep in sterlite boxes, and they are in my tall cabinet. Those are also scraps my kids are allowed to use.

Cool thanks! Yeah I am in the basement (my dungeon) and there is one little window covered by an air conditioner so it's so dark in here, it's like a cave! LOL Thanks for all your tips!

So far it's pretty good...I haven't labeled my sections yet but I have started putting the scraps in the sheet protectors. It's very cool! I love it! Thanks so much for your input!

Here's a couple of pics of the scrap storage I was talking about. Ok, ok, I got a little carried away with printing the colors names in the SU color, but I had just gotten the list of the printing codes for SU colors.......so I went a little bonkers. But really it does work...
It's only about 8" wide with scraps and fits great on a shelf facing out so everyone can see all the colors.

Great pictures. The system has worked great for me. I have the grouped just by color since I have very little SU paper. I haven't had to cut many whole sheets lately...it's amazing how much paper I have once it was organized. Still I am always needing that perfect color...so I need to buy more!

I just found these also. They are large enough for 8.5 x11 but not 12x 12 (but we're talking scraps anyways). I bought 6 I think, one for each family (each file has 5 spaces), one for neutrals and one for DP. But I really like the wood boxes someone posted above... I need to find myself some of those!

Default scraps

I store mine by color in page protectors and in a 3 ring binder...I go to that first when I am making cards. I did a workshop the other night 3 girls 15 cards each, and I think I used 2 whole sheets of card stock and the rest scraps..one card had 13 pieces of paper per card...now my friends don't laugh at me so much for saving all my scraps.

I use a Sterlite file folder system. Each color has it's own folder.

You mentioned that it's only 8" wide...are these in 'standard' sized notebooks, or in notebooks that hold a half sheet of paper? Looks great!!!

I have a 3 drawer plastic thing that will hold 8.5x11 paper. I have it labeled cool, warm & neutral. Pattern paper goes in there also based on what I consider the most prevelant color.
