Paper saving template

I jut got the paper saving template for scrapbooking, and even with the directions printed on it, I just don't "get it". Could someone please explain how to use it?

At first I had the hardest time with the paper saving template. But then I was making more of it then it really was. All it is, is a guide so that you can cut out the cardstock under an 8 1/2 x11 if you are layering it. You just put the template and mark the corners that pop out and then use your cutter and cut out that paper. Put an 8 1/2 x 11 on top of the hole and use the cut out paper to mat your pictures. I used it in the black and red family scrapbook page in my gallery if you want to a finished product. When you turn the paper over you can see that the whole area underneath the 8 1/2 x 11 has been cut out.
I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more.

Punch out the triangles. Lay the template on a 12 by 12 sheet. Mark the 4 corners that you punched out. Use your personal cutter to cut out the rectangle formed by the 4 corners. Layer a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of cardstock on top of the hole. Use the cut out portion to mat your photos, journalling and/or title. It also gives lots of good layout sketches.

It saves paper plus makes your page less bulky.

In case people don't know what the paper saving template is, it is available to demonstrators as a supply item to use as a hostess gift for our scrapbooking customers.

Thank you. I guess I was trying to make it too complicated.
