What kind of removable tape do you use for the masking piece of paper??
I have Scotch Double-Sided Removable tape, on the dispenser it says Scrapbooking Tape.
I have ruined 4 completely stamped images by removing the tape. Which also removed part of the card stock paper.
I am not having good luck this year making Christmas Cards. Being a seasoned stamper this totally infuriates me!!!
Frantically trying to get Christmas Cards done. Looks like only 2-3 different designs or I will pull out those store bought cards soon!!!
UGH!

I only use PostIt notes - I have the sticky part on the section that matters most and I'm very careful...
On a related note: take a deep breath, walk away for a bit and have some eggnog or something, and see if a calmer approach helps...? I usually make popcorn and watch a movie to wind down...
I am "trying" to use the bow easy to make bows. I had to go to you tube to see how it is done. How many times have I used this bow easy, and I still have to watch a video!!
I have post it notes, but I just hate to use them as I feel they are expensive. Just to cut them up?? I think I might go that route next time, expensive or not!!

I just stamp on cheap thin copy paper, cut it out , and swipe some ZIG 2 way Glue on the back. Let it dry for about 15 minutes to create a temporary bond.
I think I will go the dollar store way, thanks Sue.
I am way to impatient to wait for glue to dry, thanks for the helpful hint August29
Eleven beautiful bows done, as #12 tore as I pulled of the mask off.
Lets go glitter these baby's, glue them on to card stock and then I can start another design!

I really like the Avery full sheet repositionable labels - VERY gentle hold.
I am loving going through this process with you - you are cracking me up. If you lived next door I'd be right over with that wine. At which point probably neither of us would get our cards done

Well I finished all the cards. I was not going to quit tonight until I designed another card.
You should have heard me talking to myself. I pulled out Su ornamental pine set. I could not figure out what green ink to use for the firn branch and what Brown ink to use for the pinecones.
Well I finished another design, cut all the card stock and everything is all set for tomorrow.
Please bring white wine:p

My hubby is using the computer. I am using my kindle fire. This is a pain in the butt!!
Yep wine

Glad to hear your progress, Leslie! I haven't done anything creative today but look at other people's stuff and test-cut two border dies... Good thing Lydia will bring you wine - wine and I are not friends. I really need depth perception for most activities, and even a small amount of wine and mine is gone...
I'm with Sue on the cheap Post-It notes, only it's a 2 store here ;-). It's pricy but the Frisket sheets are great for making permanent masks for much-used sets, though I reckon on getting several uses from a Post-It mask except with very wet techniques. I hope you enjoyed the wine!!
If I don't have to mask against anything wet, I just do something similar to Sue - I cut my mask and then use Dotto on the back. I can save those masks by sticking them on an index card.
In Dini's recent tutorial on watercolor ornaments she used 1.88 wide Frog Tape because she needed to mask against watercolor. I wasn't familiar with it, so I got some at Home Depot. Haven't tried it yet.

I use Scotch removable tape (not double-sided). The tape pulls off gently and no problems. I found it last at Hobby Lobby. It is kind of hard for me to find. I also use Post-It Notes. I think some people use their Washi tape.

I just started using paper tape and I really like it.
Leslie, I feel your pain. I've come to the conclusion that this year glossy paper is my kryptonite. Fingerprints and glue gunk no matter how hard I tried there was something wrong. ARRGH!
Post-It used to make a glue stick so that you could make any paper temporarily a post-it not, just by swiping the stick. I don't know if it's still around. Well, it looks like 3M is now selling it under the Scotch brand. Good deal for $0.99.
When I know that I want a mask to last a long time, or when I am planning to use a wet technique, I use packing tape. It is always on hand in my supplies, because I use it for lots of different things. I just cover the mask with tape before I cut it out. It is fairly thin, clear and makes the masks very durable.
My favorite masking product came on a fairly large roll.... but I can't remember the name of it now. I think it was discontinued at one point and I bought a few rolls for super cheap on clearance. Full price it was spendy, but a great product. If I can find the name of it I will post it here, as it works great.
Well, Eclipse tape was great stuff and it was gone for a while, but you can now get the same or similar product through Stampland. It's called Art Tape, and it's not cheap, but like Eclipse it does come in wide rolls.

I use Post-it Note Tape. Found in the office supply section at Wal-mart. Pretty inexpensive and a little goes a long way! I can usually use it more than once which helps it go even further.
I have a large roll of stamp masking tape I got at a stamping convention. It is about 7" wide. It releases so easy and still use it over and over. It looks just like a roll of white paper. You can even stamp on the sticky side and put down for a mirror image. The only problem? I don't know what the name of the stuff is and it was rather pricy but will last my life time.
Probably Eclipse. If it's that wide and you got it some time ago. The 7" Stampland version goes for $24 for 7 X 60 feet. Which would last a long time.

I got the Stampland version as a backup for my last roll of Eclipse. Looks similar and should work the same. Loved Eclipse, don't know why they stopped making it......
I have one partial wide roll of Eclipse tape that I use sparingly. Loved Eclipse tape! I was at a "garage sale" that Just for Fun held recently and found a package of similar tape (sorry, no name on it) in three different sizes, which I bought for about $5. I'll have to check out the Stampland version. I use the cheap post-it notes and washi tape also.
I have used Eclipse tape, post it notes (the cheap version) and I have also used masking tape but if I think it has a little too much grip I have stuck the strips to my jeans and removed them to take some of the stickiness off them...necessity is the mother of invention sometimes!
Arrrgghhhhh! I'm sorry for your masking troubles. Glad to see a couple of new ideas listed here though ... so from the crummy issues comes something good through sharing.
I love, love, loved Eclipse tape when it was available. Loved that it was available in a large roll that could handle larger images for great masking. I believe now that the product Lydia mentioned above, Avery full sheet repositionable labels, are of a size that's good for larger stamps. Whew!
I've tried Washi tapes .... I do not recommend that at all.
I do still use:
Post-It Notes
Tombow Mono Repositionable adhesive. Looks just like traditionals Tombow dry adhesive ... but it's in a green dispenser. This is good for stamping your image on thin paper, then applying on the back for more edge adhesion as compared to a post-it note. Online shopping for these is easier that locating it in stores, and refills are available too, if you have any of their dispensers.
I usually use Post It notes or masking paper. I found the stickiness is quite good. But the masking paper starts to lose its stickiness once used for 2-3 times...
I use blue painter's tape. When I pull it off, I pull slowly, at an angle. Works every time, and I don't even stick it to my pants first.
I never heard of the Pant leg trick. And I didn't want to ask. So thank you very much for explaining:lol:

Great video, Lydia. I will be getting this product as soon as I go out again. It did have a great barrier for watercolor. Plus, your card front was beautiful.
BTW, hubby and I are suffering from those nasty allergies, also.
