I just signed up for two classes with Dave Brethauer. One is colored pencils and the second is watercolors. It's like a dream come true. I love his work, but never thought I'd take a class with him. Now I just have to wait until July.
You will have so much FUN!!! He is an amazing teacher...patient and kind!!! At first I was sad he wasn't coming to my area again, but happy for others who haven't had a turn..SPREAD THE JOY ;)
I''m jealous too. I live very near where he does and I've never been able to get into a class:-( I do have his books, and review them periodically. But I NEED to take his class!
I wonder what it would take to get him to my area, umm Australia ? I need help, I am definately colouring in challenged. I am always in awe when I receive his blog udate email.
Oh well I can always dream.

Ok what books ? Have I missed out on something here ?
I don't know where you can get the best price. I ordered mine from him during class (the book had just come out). He offered a $10 discount during class and he signed it. I like reading the book and reviewing my notes that I took during class every now and then to make sure I am following his instructions and techniques.
If he comes out with another book I am going to buy it.
I have that book as well and have learned a great deal from it. I often get it out and re-read and never fail to learn something new I had missed previously. I envy anyone that has the good luck to be in one of his classes.

I just learned Dave is coming to Sacramento, CA in August. I am going to take his watercoloring class again. (I am going to "repeat" the class - gosh it sounds like I failed it the first time - sometimes I think I did - never satisfied with my watercoloring).
I just signed up for both clases in Wisconsin in August. I am really looking forward to re-discovering pencils and watercolors, which I kind of forgot about after Copics!
