Default Overlay - how do I use it?

I was at the Dollar Store and found a package labelled Overlays and Stickers and now I'm wondering how to use the overlays.

They are transparent plastic with greytone images, like butterflies, foliage, postal cancellations, etc. Some are squares about 3x3 inches. Some are tags.

The package says, "ideal for scrapbooking" but can I use them in cardmaking? How would I attach them?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can attach them with brads or eyelets. Glue dots would work too, although you might then want to put something on top to hide the glue dot. Staples are really "in" right now, too.

I think these overlays are a really pretty look. You can layer them on top of plain colored cardstock or patterned. They can lay flat on the paper or you can elevate them using foam tape, as if you were making a shaker card.

Lots of fun to play with! Congrats on your score!
