Am I the only one who talks to myself in my craft room? Sometimes these things are said loudly, sometimes a bit more softly, but I usually say them out loud.
Guess the dog and cats are used to it by now because they no longer run away in fright :p
Great thread. I have always been a self talker ( no slouch at talking to others either) but since card making I've gone to a whole new level. Yes to all above and more. Some times I even pat myself on he back wit a "not too shabby a design" and "I love --love it". Card making can sometimes be lonely and so I give myself instant feedback.
I even use my name! I usually say "oh Kathy, why don't you ever remember to use junk card stock first to try new techniques?" I always start with the good stuff, so I say that a lot! I also say a few of the ones poppydarling already mentioned....like taking the glasses off, or standing for this one, never doing this one again, and where did I put???;)
Oh haha! Now I have to pay attention to see whether I actually say these things out loud or just in my head! I do talk to the dogs a lot... that is my rationale for verbalizing when alone. But I think as many phrases as I say out loud.
You guys are cracking me up! I don't talk to myself, I hum - to the point that I don't know I'm doing it until someone points it out. My BFF in California used to say, "Sue? Try not to sing..." My BFF in New York always found me when we got separated in a store by following the hum... Yeah, music trumps conversation in the Sue-niverse, lol!
Lol I talk to myself all the time in my craft shop...or sing, or...! I'm lucky enough that my shop isn't in the house, so I can hold conversations with myself without being overheard!;)

Love this. I would love to have a studio area outside the main house.
I bet it would feel like a tree house, or a little forte like we used to make when we were kids.
I am chuckling so hard to myself that my nose is dripping! I think I talk inside of my head and the most often used phrases are "Where is it????? I just had it! I KNOW it's around here somewhere!" Thanks for the chuckle of the day!
Love this, and by the time I got to "Do not tell me it dropped on the floor again", I almost lost it because the 2 sentences most often overheard in my craft room are:
Do NOT tell me I've lost that again! I JUST had it!

WHAT time is it?? Where did (fill in the blank) hours go??
I tell myself I better get up and walk around a little. I tend to sit in the same position and get stiff as a board!
The thing I always say to myself is, "Leave it, now. It's just perfect, so just put it down. Don't add any more. No, don't." "Why did I do that?" "Why didn't I leave well-enough alone?".

I DO TOO!! I thought no one else did...and now that I know you do, I can't be crazy after all ;)
And I always always have music on when I'm crafting.

I'm participating in a RAK Christmas swap, and I swear the other night I got up to go to bed around 11 p.m. and decided to swing by my craft room and do "one quick thing" first.
Suddenly, the world seemed awfully quiet so I glanced at the clock: it was almost 3 a.m.
If only the things I hate to do flew by with the same speed!
I am always dropping tiny little things and they are never where I think they should have landed. Yesterday I finally found the little bead I dropped while working on the domino mini book tutorial. It was on the second shelf on the lip of the handle of a plastic box! So out comes my usual phrase....how on earth did it land there? I heard it hit the floor so it had to have bounced to get there!

Maybe that's where I'll find my little missing "I"!

I'm learning to look in strange places now! I have a hardwood floor and I heard it hit. So I pulled out my table and moved everything and couldn't find it. Then six days later I just happen to glance down on that shelf and there it laid. Funny thing is it was still sticky from the glue. I was worried that it would be glued fast somewhere, but no such luck!
Two days ago I couldn't find my stampamajig clear sheet. Found it later in the box with my embossing supplies! Apparently it stuck fast to the clear lid when it was on my craft table. I usually find lost things right where they are supposed to be but I looked there six times before I saw it! LOL
And I find lost stamps in other stamp cases. I think they went for a walk just to tick me off! LOL:shock:
This is by far my favorite response! I just related it at the dinner table and got blank stares. To them there are a limited number of forks and they go in the utensil drawer. The tooth brush and tooth paste just does not get misfiled with the forks.
So I guess this means I need to get the Dawn out of the fridge, and get the milk carton out from under the sink?

LOL... Oh, the number of things I have misplaced in other areas of the house is astronomical. We always say lost things are "someplace safe" which, to the adults, is short for "it's someplace so safe you will never find it". My mom said it so much I thought everybody said it... LOL
I DO TOO!! I thought no one else did...and now that I know you do, I can't be crazy after all ;)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there's a flaw in your theory...
Just because we both do the same crazy thing doesn't mean that we're not still crazy - just EQUALLY crazy... Still, it's nice to have company, isn't it? ;)
Just read through this thread and you guys are cracking me up and it's nice to find people to be "equally crazy" with, thanks Sue!! I don't talk to myself as much as I talk to inanimate objects! I figure they need a little coaxing to do what they're supposed to do. Doesn't matter where I am, home, outside, in a store. I should where a wireless earpiece when I'm out so I don't look too crazy = )
On lost items, I found my eraser pencil after it had been missing a week. It had rolled (maybe jumped) out of my pencil tray and landed in the stencil folder on the shelf below! My MISTI magnets jumped onto my metal ruler. I'm hoping my lost stamps have jumped or crawled to a safe place so I can find them too.

WHAT!?? It doesn't?? ...sigh... I will take Equally Crazy - I'm in good company
"Remember, less is more. Leave it alone", "Okay 1 more hour and I will start dinner", "I got that done quicker than I thought" and the most used is "OMG, I love it and just love doing this!!"
