OK... I got skunked (someone backed out of a large order) and I'm sitting on about 200 nugget tins. Has anyone used these to create gift items that don't include Hershey nuggets?

Oh my - that's a lot of tins to fill. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with ideas, but everything I think of is food or candy related.
I thought about those cute little fancy soaps that you can buy in shapes, like hearts, etc. You could put them in a decorated tin, add a fluffy bath scrubbie for a gift.
And I did find this website that actually sells "Gifts in Tins." Maybe there are some ideas there for you.
They're a good packing method for homemade magnets.
And I like this use from Nichole at PTI for making a tin of tags. There's a template for a divider-- you could really make just about anything. Tag Tin
Thanks for your input. I also found one place that put small scented tea light candles in it. That looked nice. Also found someone who used mini peanut butter cups instead of nuggets. So now I have these ideas:
Hershey Nuggets
Peanut Butter Cups (minis)
Guest Soaps
Tea-Light Candles
Anyone else want to jump in? I can use all the help I can get here.

Hi Pia
Didn't occur to me. Never sold anything there. Who pays the shipping when you sell on the brds?
Oh... just found one more idea (God bless pintrist). Christmas Tag Kits - with sliver/gold spools of stretchy thread and homemade tags. Nice!

Ohhhhh.... Nice ideas! Adding them to my list. The coloring kit idea gave me an other idea. I wonder if I can make smaller envies that would fit inside the tin and make a few note cards to accompany them. Hmm...
Also thought of various humorous "survival" kits - so long as the chosen things would fit inside.

I'd cruise the Dollar Spot at Target and look for items that will fit inside. Consider not just things for kids, but things that would be appropriate for an adult as a hostess gift, or small thank you gifts for teachers, friends, auto mechanic or hairdresser at Christmas time, etc.

I love the idea of mini-notecards and envelopes. You could add a few special postage stamps, too. They have lots of beautiful flower stamps on sale at the PO right now, and they are Forever stamps.
OT a little here, but if you haven't heard about the new WeR Memory Keepers Envelope Punch, check it out. I have one and it makes wonderful envelopes very quickly.

Nice! If you don't mind my asking, what is the finished size of envies that the punch makes?

How about storing buttons in them? Organize them by color and then add a cute little label on the side so you know what color is in each tin.
I've used them for the Nuggets and the Tea-lights as well as homemade magnets. I thought I had seen someone make a mini-checkers game and stored the tiny magnetic board in there with the little magnet checker pieces. Sort of like a travel-size game...
Just checked out the youtube cha video on this product. WOW. Look awesome. i'm actually a little jealous that you have one of these. LOL I'm going to have to think about this and see if the purchase might be worth it because of all these tins. Haven't seen this in any stores around here. Assuming I'd have to order it online. Thanks for the heads up. Love the looks of this product!

So many excellent ideas. Love the storage ideas - but I already have pretty good storage for small items and I'm looking to find a way to make my money back. That checkerboard idea was very cute too. Have to think about that. Its also making me think that I could do a set of clear "stone" magnets in there as a set.

Wish I had some of them tins.
use as a small shadow box
small first aide kit; sewing kits, use as gift card holder
make some gift tags, store in tin and give as gift
I have made birthday tins from them. I add a bday candle, a balloon, then little things that fit: button pin, cool paperclips or magnets, gift card, barrettes, hair ribbons, lip gloss, hand cream.
I didn't read the whole thread but I made girlfriend gifts of various sizes of decorated clothespins. Glittered, with patterned paper. Some with chipboard shapes which were decorated, covered in paper, painted or glittered. I made them all coordinate and they loved them. Some were magnetized and some not. A matching mini pen with magnet might make a nice fridge set. You could add a paper pad too.
Some nugget tins also fit ATCs so that might be an idea, market them to crafters to store their faves. Maybe even not decorated but as a kit?
They also make good mini jewelry boxes especially for kids again another kit opportunity or even a class? But they would work for adults too.
They could be turned into a mini Easter basket by adding a punched paper edge glued inside to make the sides taller and using a Cropadile to punch holes in the sides (unless the lid is hinged on-mine aren't) for a handle to attach with brads.
They also make great shower or wedding favour boxes so maybe you can unload them and get a job that way.
HHT!

The buyer pays the shipping of course but you negotiate the price with the costs in mind. If its too much, just like any purchase, it won't be worth it.

So many more great ideas. I guess I'm going to have to do a craft fair before the holidays. I've already had a few people msg me to say they'll buy some from me. As soon as I figure the shipping I'll be getting back to all of you who asked about that. (Having some trouble getting to the post office during open hours because I've been working long hours at work.)
I've also decided to make Christmas Nugget tins for a ministry my husband and I run for senior citizens. That should use up about 80 of the 180 I ordered. Only 100 more to go! LOL
Seriously... thank you all for the many ideas and links. I'm thrilled to have so many options and I'm sure I will put them to good use.

How much would you sell them for? I might be interested in buying some.
OK... did a bit of pricing. Still don't have shipping costs but I do have per box cost for you - then you'd have to pay actual shipping on top of that.
~~~~~~~~~~~
COMPARISON NOTE:
WithOUT shipping - cost per box at PaperTreyInk is $2.00/ea
WithOUT shipping - cost per box at PaperMart (not hinged) is $2.46/ea
~~~~~~~~~~~
Because I bought in bulk - my price per box is $1.35 each - plus whatever the actual shipping cost to you would be. Just so you know, I'm not making a dime on this - I'm just trying to recoup my costs.
One case holds 24 tins. It would be easiest for me to ship a half a case (cost without shipping for 1/2 case - $16.20) or a whole case (cost without shipping for a whole case - $32.40) because they are still individually wrapped and not opened. That means they are literally new as if you got them direct from the manufacturer. I will sell them off in lesser quantities but understand that I will then have to open the box and repack them - which is not a problem for me, just wanted you to know.
If you can find a better deal locally (where you don't have to pay the shipping) I do understand. I should have at least 72 tins for sale - first come first serve. Three people already contacted me so they get first dibs on what they want - in the order they asked about them. I'll contact you in via PM to ask you how many you want - in the order you msged me.

Nugget tins will go out to the following people (amounts indicated):
krcrafts (You still interested? PM'd you but haven't heard back. I can send you up up to a dozen at this point.)
lluvcards - 12
mmayers - 12
PMR - 6
gregzgurl - 12
Thanks so much ladies. That leaves me with just enough to create 80 favors for our Senior Ministry group (which the church will reimburse me for) and some left over for me to use with all the great ideas you provided. You really blessed me by taking these off my hands. A PM will be going out to each of you giving you the exact price due, asking for your address and sending you my address (for the check) . Please confirm as soon as you can that you either chose to purchase these or decline to purchase them. If you decide you do not need them, no hard feelings.
