Organizing without it looking like a Craft Area?

Does anyone have any great ideas on how to organize your craft supplies in an open space? I have a portion of the basement but would like it to stay neat and tidy! Hidden storage ideas I guess is what I'm looking for! Please give me any ideas and photos of what you've done with your space!
Greatly Appreciated! :p

My only idea would be a computer-type armoire; that way you close it up when you are done. Maybe a pantry-type cupboard that you could store stuff in and be able to close the doors.

I need to get my space organized too, but am having trouble finding motivation.

Good luck:)

Might I also recommend decorative storage baskets as hiding places? I have some really cute wicker picnic baskets that hold quite a lot of stuff. I have stamping goodies stashed all over the place with these babies :)

My stamping space is in the dining room. I had an old dresser that was used as a buffet and I had my stamping stuff contained in 2 drawers of it and my cardstock was relegated to a cardboard box under the buffet. Then we got a great deal on some other dressers, which we needed for the kids. One of them is the long, low dresser with 6 drawers.

It replaced the old buffet in my dining room and I now have all 6 drawers. I have my stamps organized now by type. (Animals, Words, Floral, etc) I have one drawer with all of my neutral cardstock, one drawer with my scraps, acetate, vellum and the backgrounds I have made up.

The rest of my supplies are in a plastic 6 drawer storage unit that sits between the dining table and a book case. It is so much easier now to find exactly what I want and to put stuff away when I'm done.

Hope this helps some. I will be getting my own stamping room soon. Well, as soon as we can get the front room upstairs finished to move ds to it, then I'm taking over his room.

I just had to move all my scrapping stuff out into the living room. I have been using wire cubes for storage, and stuff just stuffed into them. We can't afford anything else, so instead, I bought some storage boxes at the $ spot at Target, and am altering them to match our living room decor. Then I'll stuff them with all my scrapping stuff. Granted, they'll still be on the wire cubes, but it'll be better than it is now! LOL Here's a pic to my first one:

I am in the process of moving my supplies into a Hoosier cabinet. In the past this wonderful piece of furniture has been used in the kitchen, as it was designed to be, and as a changing table when my children were little.

The enameled bread board slides out to make a great work table. There are drawers, shelves, cabinet storage underneath and the tambor door slides down to cover more stuff.

I am having big fun organizing this space.
