Default Using Staz-On - what do you clean stamp with?

I am going to give the coasters a try, and I was just thinking....what do you clean your stamp with after you stamp with Staz-On? Is there something special since it is more permanent? I assume I can't just use the regular SU spray and scrub pad. Thanks!

The mist won't really clean your stamp. There is a Staz-On cleaner that they make. Su just doesn't sell it. Look at your local craft store. It is only a few dollars.

I have just recently tried the non-acetone nail polish remover and it worked wonders.

Won't the alcohol dry the rubber out?

This has been posted here many times, but you can actually use a Yoyo Yellow ink pad to clean the StazOn off of your stamps. The ink pad will never stamp yellow again, but it really does work. I've used the StazOn cleaner in the past, but it doesn't work as well as the Yoyo Yellow.

I find that if I clean my stamp right after stamping then it usually comes off pretty good just using stamp cleaner.

YoYo Yellow? Really? So do you have one pad just to clean your Staz-On off and another to actually stamp with?

I use mineral spirits, like the kind you get from the hardware store, and it works great. HTH

I've used the non-acetone nail polish as well. I guess you could be concerned about the alcohol drying the rubber out, but I guess that all depends on how much you use staz-on. And for me, I hardly ever use it, so I know that once or twice (a YEAR, maybe) using the nail polish on my stamps isn't going to hurt it as much as if I used it on a regular basis. So, I think if you don't use stazon that much, nail polish remover would be fine.

Yes, it really does work. I know it sounds crazy, but you should give it a try.

I do have a second Yoyo Yellow pad just to clean StazOn off of my stamps. It is actually chepaer in the long run than the StazOn cleaner. I used to go through that pretty quickly.

Kymbers broke the news on this site. If you do a search for Yoyo Yellow and StazOn you could probably find the original thread. She posted before and after pictures and everything.

Default Using Staz-On - what do you clean stamp with?

Ranger Brand Solvent Cleaner
2 oz. srubber top bottle
$3.49 each (Item SCD01713)

I buy mine at www.rubberd.com

This is the BEST stuff I have found to clean StazOn and regular black ink off of my stamps. Rub this stuff onto the stamps, then blot on paper towels until clean. I go through it like lightning! But I ALWAYS finish up by giving my stamps a shot of our very own Stampin' Mist to condition them, then cleaning them on our scrubbie. Gotta keep the stamps in great condition, don'tyaknow?

I used the stazon cleaner with a sponge tip. I rub the sponge all over the stamp and then I use a damp old rag to clean that off with. After that I sometimes rub it on my regular stampin scrub.

In another thread here several people said the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are just the thing for getting Stazon off your stamps/counters/tiles. You need to be careful not to abrade the stamp much so it doesn't mar the image, but it's another option! One woman said it took SO off her counter a couple of months after she had the boo-boo.

Here's the link for that thread...

I use StazOn made by TSUKINEK and bought it in Michaels. I've also seen it in A.C. Moore. Paid about $3 for a bottle. I've been using it to clean SU black ink off my stamps also. (Not in front of customers though. Works great!
