Ok, I read this on my group's website and it got me thinking. One of my "group"ies is making cards with the "Hope Is" stamp set and bringing them to local hospitals for them to pass out to their cancer patients, I guess. This is such a good idea!
But I'm wondering...is this something you should do to get your name out there, or just something ou of the goodness of your heart only? Should you include your business cards with the stamped cards?
What is the proper etiquette when doing something like this?
IMHO, I wouldn't include my business cards. It would be a "from the heart" kind of project instead of a business call. I would think that if people are fighting through cancer, the last thing on their minds would be to start ordering a bunch of craft supplies to use at a later date...
Hi I fully understand what you are all saying. However how would it be if the person doing these cards for people and dropped them off at the hospital.Asked the nurse at the desk. That if anyone asked who made them to simply leave her name and number at the desk.Or.
Then if relatives or friends were interested in learning more about it they could call her.I don't think that 1 card would be that offensive. As long as she doesn't call back and keep asking about it.Even ask if she could leave a card on the bulletin board.maybe others might be interested in making similar projects for a walk for breast cancer.I think people need to think of it as spreading the word to help the cause.Because with every stamp set that is sold in the month of October.$2.00 is being donated for the breast cancer research fund.So you are helping them by passing the word around.I think people won't take it so negative when you look at it that way.
I don't know just a sugestion.Maybe I am wrong.

I don't see any problem with that...even possibly leaving a flyer with the information with the nurses or on the bulletin board about the Hope Is... set with your contact info on the bottom.
After all, stamping is an outlet for us...maybe it would be for one of the patients, too.
I agree you should do this out of the goodness of your heart, but I would leave info for anyone who may like to order the set on a BB or at the nurses station. Some one may want to use the stamp for something else, especially if they work there or have a support group. I would not leave my personal contact info, just how to get the stamp.

If you did leave contact info, I think it should just be so the recipients or their families could send their thanks if they wanted to. I suppose some people might be interested in the stamps used, especially if they found out that part of the proceeds will be donated. Info for placing any orders should only be given if requested, otherwise it's a bit tacky IMO.
