Default One quick question....

Got a quick question... what is the difference between a Stazon black ink pad (which I have already) and a SU Craft Black ink pad? In other words do I need both?

Thanks for your help in answering !

my understanding is the stazon ink can be used on plastic as it is very permanent. on paper If using to watercolor stazon is the best to use because it will not run. The basic black ink pad is good for just stamping. If you use water with it the image will run. You can not use the regular pad on objects like plastic.

Well, the stazon is better for stamping something permanent, like on metal tags, polyshrink, plastic, tiles...etc. Though it is great for watercoloring as well, the black classic ink is a water proof ink, so if that is what you want to use it for, it is cheaper to use the classic black.

The classic black will run if you use it with watercolor paper, or any of the heavier neutrals. The StazOn is perfect for watercoloring. Basic Black is fine if you have a light touch and don't touch the lines with the brush/color/water, but if you are generous, it does run and also turns a purplish color. Basic Black works best with blender pens, chalks, and markers.

If you have Staz-On, you don't need Basic Black. If you have Basic Black, you'll need Staz-On for some applications. If I had it to do over, I would just get the Staz-On. One trick--you're supposed to keep the little plastic liner that comes with the staz-on, so use a pop-dot to attach it to the inside of the staz-on lid. (Picked that up here on SCS, of course.)

I use Staz on for glass, tile, dominos, etc. Like the others have said....staz on is better for more permanent images or water coloring. Staz On has a ton of cool colors now also.

But like most stampers...I've the black classic and craft inks just in case.
