Default Okay, what is on your list...

that is now being retired and will force your hand. I have had my eye on Cold Play for over a year and I can't believe they are retiring it. Now I have to decide if I want it bad enough to get it or do I think I can continue to live without it. But I have resisted before and then seriously regretted it later. So what's on your "retiring" list must haves?

well.... I already own 53 of the retirees, so if you count the "I won't trade them away" sets:
- Aida Cloth, Linen, Fine Lace, Word by Word (these are my "go-to" backgrounds)
- Genuine Artice, Its a Date (good for scrapbooking)
- Letterpress and Headline (they are a good size for a lot of non-card projects)
- In My Thoughts (I use this set a TON)
- the ENTIRE monogram alphabet (but I guess they will probably retire the lowercase ones in June so I guess I'd better start collecting them now)

I might get Booglie Eyes since its so stinkin' cute, but I really don't use Halloween stamps that much...

how about everyone else?

Can someone please help, I've tried the SU website and cannot get the retirement list to come up. I'm dying here waiting to know what's leaving. Thanks, Linda

Looking over the list, I have found two sets that I hadn't thought of getting before, but now I think I will:

I Did It
Wing It

I think I'll get the "I Did It" to stamp my non-SU cards and "Wing It" for some reason just appeals to me now. I had never really looked at it before.

I'm losing 32 (34 if you count the two I'm going to order.)

I am "losing" 12 (I never really lose them because I continue using retired sets all the time - I bought them for a reason right? LOL). Considering getting Frosty, Word by Word and I Did It before they are gone, haven't decided yet. Wish I could see the new catalog before ordering, don't we all? ;)

I lost 17 sets from this retired list. So of them I will be keeping though as I really like them...Frosty, Cold Play the Headline Alphabet. Good news is there really isn't any I have to have before they go.

I just tried it and it worked. Is it something on your computer settings? (Parental controls or something?)
If you pm me your email address, I can send it to you.

I think the only sets on here that I am really dying for that aren't already on my gift list are the Halloween sets. Halloween is my favorite time of year and carved & candlelit could be useful for general Fall decorations, so there is a very strong argument for getting them.

I just got into stamping this summer though so a small (probably overly optimistic) part of me hopes that I will be so excited by the new catalog (not to mention the other companies out there whose stamps I already love), that if I do not get the Halloween sets I like off this list I will not be kicking myself for the next 5 years.

If I don't get the 2 or 3 Halloween sets I adore, I'm looking at a solid 5 years of self inflicted kicks, aren't I :(

Tell me it will be ok!!!!!!

well, this list reminded me that I bought Big Celebrations for my Christmas cards & forgot to use it. :(

Hmmm...maybe I will have to make a few more cards?

I'm kinda suprised that Looks like Spring is on there, I guess that means the Spring Bouquet Flower Punch will retire also. I also like the Fine Lace Backround . I will need to get the IN My Thoughts for sure. That seems like a very good verse set. I hope they have a comparable set in the new catty.

Linrob- Did you get the site to come up yet ? When you are on the site, under the picture in small print it says retired list I think click on that and it should come up. Otherwise maybe you have to update your adobe file. HTH.

I will be getting Bundle of Joy, as I have wanted it forever but never bought it. I am also thinking about I Did It but I am not really sure. I am always hesitant to get retiring sets b/c I am also thinking I will like the new stuff better but that doesn't always happen and then I do kick myself b/c I can't get that cute set anymore.

I only have two sets that are retiring, much better than last time around. Last time all my sets but three retired.

Only one set on my wish list that I have to get - thank goodness! I have Headline Alphabet and love it; the matching numbers have been on my list for awhile. I just emailed my demo to order them for me.

Do get Cold Play, you won't regret it, I posted some old samples on my blog with it this morning and if you scroll down you will see a chipboard ornament that I made last week with it.

Great set, very versatile!!

That is the Regional set for the year (you get it free when attending a Regional. I am not 100% positive, but I think that set will still be the free one when the Regionals start up again next year - business year as opposed to catalog year.

I didn't care for it at first, but I am liking it more and more.

The only thing that I saw that I really want is the Aida Cloth. I had never paid attention to a couple of the christmas sets like, Simple Snowman and Glorious Garlands, but I dont know that I HAVE to have them. I will be ordering Aida Cloth though. I was shocked to see a couple of them go, like Bundle of Joy and Linen, but all good things must come to an end, so that we can get better!!! I only lost 15, but I am like some of the others, I wont get rid of them, unless I start not to like them.

Default retired list

There aren't as many as I thought, but Home is where the haught is, Thankful Season, Sassy Stems, Season by Seanson. Question, when I get my sassy stems and color in my vase, can I then put the crystal effects on the vase and it will look like water? Do I just put a thin layer?
Thanks

Default Oh Frosty!

I'm sentimental for Frosty cause it's the first set I bought. I'm also going to miss Solemn Stillness.

However, for those on the list I don't have, I'm considering:
Holiday Tag Team
It's Snow Time
Flaky Friends
Monkey Business
Serene Sunflower

I'm surprised about Headline Alpha and Letterpress. I have letterpress. Admiditely, I don't use it much, but I'm surprised it's on the list. I think the Monograms are going cause now you can just get a chipboard letter instead of having a big stamp, KWIM?

I'm not surprised about Frosty or Solemn Stillness, though. I have and like both, but even I think it's time for a change.

I thought City of David would last forever, it's so lovely. I'm glad I already have it though.

I don't think I'm going to have to get any of these retiring ones. Thank heavens, I'm sure I'll have to have new ones in January.

Thank goodness I already have most of what I like that's going!

I've only got 3 "gotta haves", but there's 6-7 more sets that I'm debating.

-Stinkin' Cute (When I'll ever get really good use outta this skunk I don't know, but I've just gotta have it!)

-Farm Fever This is just the corny kind of humor my mom and I have-luv it

-Silly Sealife - gotta have it to match the other set I already have!

Thinking about:

Home is where the haunt is
Bundle of Joy
By Land
Bareback
Season by Season
Alphabits

Not a bad list... is it just me, or does it seem kinda short? Anyway I just need to get the number sets for all of my alphas - Headline, Letterpress, and Typeset. I've been putting those off, but can put-off no longer. I've debated on Aida Cloth for a long time now... I guess I need to officially make up my mind! LOL

Whew... luckily I had a short list of "must-haves" and none of them were on the retiring list. I'm new and my first set, Frosty, is going! I did get Greetings Galore, too, and it's staying, which I'm relieved about as I have seen lots of folks wishing that it would go!

I'm considering signing up as a demo so will not be buying any of the retiring ones, although I love Sassy Stems and had thought about that set seriously for a while.

I'm losing 32 (34 if you count the two I'm going to order.)
Question - what do you mean you are losing 32? Are you a demo and won't be able to use them anymore?

My list is not that long, Aida Cloth and Fine lace for sure. Debating about Linen since I already have Canvas. Seems a bit much to have three "cloth like " BG. Any opinions on that?

Debating between Headline and Letterpress Alpha's. Have liked Headline for a long time but the Gallery submissions for Letterpress make it so appealing!

It never fails that while looking at everyone else's list of "must have's" sets I had not really thought about before suddenly seem tempting.

If anyone doesn't already have Frosty, Aida Cloth and Sassy Stems, get them!!

The only thing on the list that I kinda want that I don't have is Circus Train. Still thinking on that one...
