Default Mailing stamp sets

I have to mail a stamp set (retired) to someone that bought it from me on Ebay. What is the best way to package it without spending a fortune, but ensuring it isn't damaged? Thanks for your help.

I have received stamp sets sent from the US to Canada and not had a problem yet; even the plastic cases were still in new condition. Send them in a bubble-lined mailer, or in a regular envelope with a double layer of bubble wrap around the stamp case and you should have no problems.

Personally I'd go with a box. Pretty close to the size of the box the stamps come in, but a little bigger for some packing. I usually have some of the brown paper SU ships with stuff around, so I use that. I figure if it's good enough for SU to use, then it's good enough for me ;)

Did they pay for priority? If so then you need to send it priority, and again, I'd go with a box rather than the envelope.

I sent lots of sets in the priority mail envelopes - with nothing around them and they arive fine. The wood holds the box up and I haven't ever had a complaint that the box arrived crushed.

I would say a box as well since it is ebay. The post office gives them free when you mail priority. It usually costs 4.05 unless you put a heavier than usual item in the box.

Although I have received several in bubble mailers and they were fine.

I have sold my retired sets for years, and I always use a bubble wrap lined envelope. I always get positive fedback, no complaints. I do make sure it is a snug fit, so it doesnt bounce around. HTH

I have always used the flat rate priority envies without any cushioning and haven't had any complaints. I do wrap a layer of pretty tissue around it for aesthetic purposes

Default Best Way to Mail Stamp Sets

Thanks for all your help. I ended up wrapping them in bubble wrap and brown paper and then using the USPS Priority Mail envelope. The envelopes are free at the post office and anything that fits in it can be mailed for a flat fee of $4.05 regardless of weight, destination or type of material enclosed. Domestic use only. If it is over a pound you have to mail it at the post office, otherwise you can just drop it in a mailbox. You can also get the postage and label at their online site. So you never have to go to the post office if you keep some of the envelopes on hand. I asked buyer $4.50 for postage and requested a receipt that it was received for 50 cents, so I think I was pretty fair!

I don't think I have ever received a stamp set without a crushed box when it has been mailed with a flat rate envelope. I have also had several flat rate envelopes pop open because the sender failed to use packing tape.

Oh my! I hope that doesn't happen! It is wrapped so well inside, I don't think it should be a problem. I added extra tape to the envelope. Wish me luck!
