Default Oh My! EZ Mount is GOOEY!!!!

Well, my EZ Mount order came in today so I've been remounting my stamps on it. That stuff is really gooey! Almost as gooey as some of the stamps when I unmounted them! lol I have a bottle of Undu and a cotton ball next to me to keep cleaning my new Kai scissors!

I'm off to mount some more stamps!

I have to agree that the last of the EZ Mount that I used was gooey and boy was I disappointed. I even tried putting it in my freezer and hoping that it would for a lack of a better term but stiffen up. But no luck there. I was so glad when TAC changed their EZ Mount, which we call Creative Cling now. It is not gooey at all. Nor does it make your scissors gooey.

I just don't know the answer to that problem and for that I am sorry.

Inky Huggz,

This helped me control the goo: sprinkle baby powder lightly over the areas of easy-mount that are exposed between the stamp rubber. It really helps! It doesn't hurt the performance of the stamps either, even if you don't clean them before use. Just dust 'em off!

Great idea, I never thought about that. Thanx for the tip.

I use water, I cut out all the rubber stamps, then mount them on the easy mount and then I spritz the easy mount with a bit of water/soap mixture. Works perfectly. Of course I only spray the part that has my stamps on it, cut off the parts I want to save.

I use my exacto knife instead of my Kai scissors and it is so much faster and not messy at all. I use Smart Cushion from www.cornishheritagefarms.com. I believe it is the same thing that TAC sells and it is around $3.50 a sheet. It's really easy to use it the way I do now.
